This build will not be a rushed one.. I want to take my time, cause I rushed my last build. I have learned alot of stuff from other forums, but from the little time I have been looking at the amazing builds here.. I know I will be busy soon getting this beast running before any audio goes in, but I have also been working on some ideas.. It's not for sure cause if I can get to it I have been in contact with Mike Singer to design me a 4thorder for 12 12's.. I probably will be using some Alpine type R's (older models swr-1242d) for awhile until funds allow me to go further.. Mike said that using the alpines would not be a bad thing cause they do so well in sealed enclosures.. From what I have seen here, you guys are the 4thorder experts..I would like any advice or ideas anyone has.. Any ideas as far as audio is welcome. I have not ruled out using, DC, SUNDOWN, or even SKAR AUDIO... Not sure what amps I will be using either.. any idea? Thanx Guys Jay This is the Big Beast That will be the victim of my torture.. Well guys I have decided to go with rebuilding my 79 suburban instead.. alot more room for more cone area.. not sure on the audio plans yet, have to get it in running order first..

Just letting everyone know that this rebuild is dead now.. Going a complete different direction... Thanx to everyone that gave advice on this.. Jay

Well I would put them in the cab, but I want to free up the space for the amps and to make the inside look better..

Alittle Update.. Well after going back and doing more measurements, and considering room and advice from others I have went back and redesigned again.. I'm thinking this is the best way of doing it.. I had to make the choice of going with 6 subs instead of the 8 that I wanted, but I think this is the right choice.. This way it will leave me the room for the battery placement.. I have sketched up how things will be when finished..

I will probably just use the alpines for awhile until i save up some cash to swap them out for the sundowns.. and then i can sell the alpines down the road.. In your guys opinion what would be a good amp i could run a 2ohm load at.. I have the rockfords but they only do a 1000watts at 2ohm.. i would like alittle more if i can.. i know the sundown amps play at .5ohm but the warranty is voided if you do that.

I know its sucks for my buddy, but he knows i will make it right... Like i said, i really wanted the sa 12's.. i have never used any sundown products before, and want them real bad..

Well guys, just an update for you.. I have a buddy that had 6 d4 type r 12's just sitting in his storage collecting dust and his wife told him they had to go and she sold all of them to me for $100.00 while he was at work..sucks for my buddy..lol... i know i wanted to run the sundowns but i could not pass up almost new subs.. now i just have to find 2 more 12's to match these and i can get started soon..

Thanks.. I have been looking at the sundowns amps alot.. For the money for the 4 2500d's and space i have it would be a better idea for the 2 4500d's..

I know its rough as hell, but it has worked for the past 2 years..lol Im not sure of the weight but it hits the lows.. I tuned it to low and made the port to small.. only pulled off a 148.4 with it. running 2 old mtx 7801d amps.. Videos? sorry no vids, camera stopped working awhile back..

The suspension will need extra support when im finished for sure do to the extra weight... I will post up more pics later when i get time... Do you still have the sway bar on the truck? I used birch plywood on my last box and I'll happily pay more for birch from now on. It's less messy to cut , hold screws better and seem lighter to me. I was thinking about paying the extra to, cause of the weight difference..

I know this will be alot of weight for my truck... I was considering using birch instead of mdf... Good or bad idea?

Which Mazda do you have? My mother has the mazda 6 station wagon... So much room to do a big build like this I keep telling her to get a new car and give me hers lol I have a 92 mazda pickup extended cab... Maybe you could take her car shopping to see if she finds a car she lkes.. Then you never know, you might get her mazda 6..

I was thinking about the plexi idea, but I first have to find a tonneau cover or canopy that will fit my truck while i'm building the enclosure..
