  1. Steve, I'm curious, in all your videos you seem to go very rigid. Almost like you're holding your breath. Is it because its that loud you just can't help it? Guys at work and I have been trying to figure it out. Thanks
  2. Where can I get info on an IA 40.1? They're not listed on the IA website
  3. Well it looks like I am going to be getting the BTL's Unless you guys have any really good reasons as to why I shouldn't???? Now another quick question, if my I find my kicker amps aren't enough power what would you guys suggest?
  4. For all of you that make your own RCA's, which ends do you use and where do you get them? I'm going optical from my IVA-D310 to my PXA-H701 and rca's from there so they really dont need to be long TechFlex, how do you know what size you need to use? Please give me examples i.e. 1/0 needs 1", 3 runs of 12AWG speaker wire need 5/8" etc And what ratio heat shrink should I use for the TechFlex as well Thanks
  5. when you say hairy with the Q around 1200 watts, is that a good thing or a bad thing? Now i really dont know which route to go..............I'm thinking the BTL is out, i really dont have the power so now, do i go Q or BL? too many choices
  6. Well looking at those graphs makes me wonder. I am going about getting a ground pounder / loud DD all wrong? Based on that graph it looks as though I should go with the Q But really I dont know, this is one of the reasons why i like doing a/b comparisons in my car. Pick the subs i like put them in the recommended enclosures, and listen. When buying subs online the only thing you can do is take the advice / suggestions of others who have the products. Basically what I want to do is have a nice ground pounder / loud daily driver. I would like to be around 150dB preferably higher, but I have to be louder than the 143-144 I'm doing now. Its just not loud enough for me anymore. I do like the wow factor that i have now, but i want more
  7. I know this might sound a little odd/silly I'm thinking 3-4ft^3 tuned around 32-35Hz How would fully loaded BTL's be vs say RE MT's Just wondering
  8. If i go with the BTL should I do the 3rd mag and the hixmax coil? even if i dont have the power yet?
  9. Since there isnt a distributor in Canada anymore I'm wondering if there are going to be any dealers in Canada. Maybe US Amps/RE is looking for someone to take over for their Canadian distributions Might be better if they were to answer emails. Does anyone know anything about any of this?
  10. Oh and fully loaded means what exactly? Cooling Flatwind Anything else? Do I need the extreme lead or are they going to slap and wear the cone and spider?
  11. I just want a loud daily drive / ground pounder I might hit up a couple comps, but mostly its a daily driver. I really want to be louder this year than what it is currently I like to have the potential to get loud (but a guarentee is better)
  12. I've been doing installs for like 14 years now almost 15 Mostly in big box stores and nothing crazy off the hook stuff I have a very old o-scope, and it works great Everything is run in the car, this year the trunk is getting redone and well i want to do new subs
  13. So the general concensis is the 15BL over the 15BTL Question though, is 1400-1500watts per sub going to be alright? I've never run this much power to a single sub. I mean they're only rated at 1000rms I'm thinking a nice low tune, somewhere around 32 Hopefully it bump really well, and have some nice spl I wish I could hear the subs, I'm always leary when buying stuff off the net
  14. 03 Nissan Sentra SpecV The subs are goin in the trunk. Just not sure it i am going to fire them into the car through the back seat or into the trunk
  15. Amps are a pair of Kicker KX1200.1's strapped Price range ~$1200 for a pair
  16. I have ~2800-3000watts for a pair of subs I wan to get loud, but be some what clean at the same time Which sub would I be better off using with the power I have? 15 BL or 15 BTL I have ~8-10ft^3 to play with
  17. I have a focal K2P front stage I do know about SQ I just want it to be loud and clean How is this really such a tough thing to get?
  18. Yes the Kicker 1200's are strappable I think I might be a little hard pressed to find another pair of the 1200's Electrical is fantastic 2 Optima Yellow Tops Custom 300amp alt 2 runs of 1/0 front to rear Aren't the BTL's strictly SPL driver's though? I'm driving the car everyday I would like something a little musical.
  19. Amps are covered. Space I'm willing to give up, 6-8 ft^3 net. (so after ports and displacement etc) Budget lets say it tops out around the $2K mark. It is a daily driver though so please keep that in mind, I can't go with a full SPL driver.
  20. I'm looking for suggestions, What do you all suggest I do? I want to be louder than I am now, but I would still like to retain some of the SQ I have
  21. I really want to be louder than i am now. ok lets say 145dB+ my car's pretty loud now for a daily driver, but i want it louder I'd be happy with a noticable increase in volume, i just need more.
  22. Wow, bad type-o on my part. I usually catch that stuff. Anyhow I've fixed it. I'd have to say I want more Quality over Quantity. But I would like to be louder thatn I am at the moment. With the right drivers I really dont see that being an issue. I plan on going ported this time around. Maybe a dual tuned box or something like that.
  23. I'm currently in the market for some new subs. As of right now I am running 4 Kicker L7 10's Power is from 2 Kicker KX1200.1's strapped making around 2.8k Box is 6ft^3 sealed. Ideally what I would like to do is drop down to a pair of 12's or an awsome single 15" I'm looking for a great LSQ driver, I want to be able to pound out the bass, but still be able to enjoy the sublties of the music. A friend of mine suggested looking into Fi, so here I am. Current drivers I am looking at RE MX12, DD3512, DD9515 etc. Vehicle - 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV I am doing consistant 143-144dB I'l like to get closer to the 150dB range What do you guys suggest I do? I was thinking the Fi.BL 12's, but would they be the best choice for me?
