  1. And don't put 2k to a Havoc please...
  2. Ha sweet! Oh so are you getting a new vehicle?
  3. My house! Me and my friend co own a TermLab
  4. Sorry guys. My peak is 141.5 at 35 htz (Yes, my system peaks at 35 htz). Highest I got. That score was achieved sealed at the dash. I can keep it in the 140's down to 29 htz and up to 40 htz. Very flat response in the lower notes for sure... My friend got up to 143 at 43 htz outlaw style. Here is a vid of us doing the TermLab outlaw style (at the kick) I'm pretty sure. The scores really varied depending on what windows and doors were open, etc. Here is a vid of my friends truck (Power1000 and Fi Q 15 in 4.0 cu ft @ 30 htz)
  5. I have the ability to do a drop in head to head test w/ TermLab results between a Havoc and a Q 15 ported tomorrow. Anyone interested? And any other test you guys want? I have a TermLab, a Havoc 15, and a Q 15 so all is good to compare if there is interest!
  6. Peaks at 27 and 39. Yay. Thanks for the song! Got the tickets pulled Gotta love life sometimes! Tomoro is the day! TermLab results, pics and vids promised! Peace out.
  7. The best would def be the IB3. Just watch your gains! The best would def be the BL; just put it in a ported box tuned to 34 htz and let it rip! The best would by far be a nice sealed Q. Will give you some good sound and get pretty loud too. The best would be a pair of SSD's. Less power compression and more cone area FTW! There are so many variables. You gotta tell us what you want. You're question was the equivalent of asking what midsize car is the best? I mean are you talking about performance, gas mileage, family friendliness, or looks? You gotta tell us what you are aiming to achieve.
  8. Any interesting link... Can't remember at all where I got it, but it is very useful when trying to describe what 140 dB means to someone. http://www.makeitlouder.com/Decibel%20Level%20Chart.txt
  9. Thanks! Yeah me and my friend have a co ownership in a TL... Nice to be able to meter whenever you want If anyone is every near me, I'd be more than happy to meter them free. Northwest Mississippi. Aight I'll make a quick vid w/ that song. Yeah 28 htz sounds soooo good on this system. The low note of Hood Nigga is 28 (plays during the chorus) and man its good. PS-How much did that cost u?
  10. Clicky-poo Pretty straightforward how to download them! All free too.
  11. But I can't afford a lawyer... and I mean I deserved the tickets. See I can take this class that will get a ticket COMPLETELY off ur record. You can only use it once, but I can and it will completely remove the careless driving ticket from history in every way so that my insurance won't be affected. And the boom box violation is just an ordinance citation, and it will not affect my insurance in any way no matter what. So I'm covered there. I was just wondering about how much they cost. Yeah I deff learned my lesson man. I was stupid for doing it an knew I shouldn't have at the time.
  12. Ok take the rubber thing (called a gasket) off completely. Take a drill with a drill bit (not a screw) in it, and drill through the foam of the surround where each of the 8 mounting holes are in the metal. This is to ensure that you do not cause extra stress on the surround by just putting screws through it. Then take the gasket, and put it back on the sub making sure to line it up with the holes on it and the holes u drilled. When you drill, the holes do not have to be big, and make sure to line them up with the holes on the basket.
  13. UUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH. Driving to my gf's from work last night..... Sped up to get through a red light. I was on a 4 lane highway going through town NOBODY was around me. There was nobody out cuz it was about 1 in the morning... cop was waiting right behind the building. Gave me a careless driving ticket for excessive speed and a boom box violation ticket! GAH. The good news is I can take the class and get the careless driving off my record, but hopefully I can get both of them pulled. I know some people that know some people.... Does anyone have any clue about how much those tickets cost? Thank yall... I can't have that careless on my record cuz insurance for a 17 y/o is already out the roof. Pooooo.
  14. I would seriously recommend switching to a sealed setup judging on your music tastes... If you went sealed, you could run 4 10's or 2 12's (maybe these) Sealed will give you a tighter and more controlled sound, as well as cut down on enclosure size. It will also level out your frequency response. When I think of 15" ported, I just always think of something more like what I use, nothing but deep, low rap. (Not always, but 99% of the time ) I'd say you should try out 2 sealed 12's or 10's... You will still have great low end, not as boomy mind you, but I think you will be happier with the overall sound. OR You could try out 4 12's sealed... Depends on what kind of power you will have on tap and how much you are willing to spend, but there are a lot of 12's that would love 1.25 or so cubes a piece... I'm thinking if you could have about 400 watts going to each pair, you could try 4 of these. 2 in each box. They are recommended for .8-1.6 cubes sealed, so it would be perfect like that. And you could feed them up to 250 a piece, or 500 for each pair.
  15. We both are! This vid sucks so I'm not putting it on youtube, but the special people at SSA can see it, even though it's pretty bad.
  16. Oh I got some. Nick's Vids I got the lights and plexi in after some difficulty! I don't have pics cuz my camera died... but I did get a vid before it died. I'll upload it to youtube as we speak... It'll be on that link I provided soon. Good!!!! He will be ever so satisfied with this sub, trust me! Tell him to do it! This thing is a beast! I'll take some better vids and pics I promise. I just need a lil more time. I'm going to TermLab it on Monday too! I really can't describe how much happier I am with this box than the last one. If you like to pound out the low notes in "Put On" "Hood Nigga" and "Late Night Tip (Screwed)" build this kind of box... the extra space made such a huge difference with the lows. Oddly enough, my electrical is also taking less of a hit and the amp doesn't get as hot as it used to. Increased efficiency? Who knows, but I am very happy with it like this. I'll update this post with pictures, vids, and TermLab results on Monday or Tuesday or so.... Peace.
  17. Thank you! Took ur suggestion and got them working! Now if only u can tell me where I put that electrical tape....
  18. Ok so I hooked up some LED's in my sub box. These: http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/alm.htm (The 4 bulb ones) I hooked them up twice and they worked both times. One w/ the switch and one w/o the switch. I didn't change ANYTHING and the next day I go to hook them up after putting my sub in the box, and they don't work. Try everything, but they do not work at all. Even tried hooking them directly up to the battery (no bad connections). I think the lights are dead... I guess. My question is, did my problem come from not having the 1 amp fuse they recommend? I mean that would only blow if something bad happened, and I do not understand why the lights would die so easily. If anyone has some suggestions or recommendations, I would really appreciate it because I have the plexi in the box and I really want some lights in there. Thanks!!!
  19. /!\ NOOB ALERT /!\ My lights dimmed. Got a capacitor! Stock electric... Idle is 14.9 volts and when running never drop below 14.5... Capacitor helped me a lot in my case. It isn't nearly the same w/o it. Took it out for a while and my voltage suffered... I'll get flamed for mentioning it, but it really worked for me and I got the voltage to prove it... /!\ NOOB ALERT /!\
  20. You makin a wall? How you gonna fit that box in yo truck?
  21. Christmas pic. Duece (White German Shepherd) - Rex (Dachshund) - Lucy (Jack Russell/Blue Heeler) - Birdie (Blue Heeler) 29 gal. in my dorm room
  22. I'd say 15 Nightshade or a 15 AA Havoc... Mine loves 4.5 ported to 32 Links... Nightshade http://www.sundownaudio.com/nightshade_15.html Havoc http://www.ascendantaudio.com/havoc.php
  23. YES!!! The motor is the old thing on it. This Havoc is about a year old, but long story short I sent it in for a recone and USPS managed to break a spoke of the BASKET, even though the sub was in a wooden framed box... So it has brand new soft parts and a basket, the motor is original though! I love the look of the embedded tinsels. I'd reverse mount this baby if I had the room. Aight here are a few pics of the box now. The paint job isn't pretty or professional, but it gets the job done, and that's what I want! LED's should be here MAYBE today, most likely tomorrow. .75" Plexi (the cover is brown) My side project at the moment I case I haven't said what I'm doing, I'm putting a plexi window in the box and lighting up the entire inside, especially the sub!
  24. i know i'm boring. I just don't feel like there is a reason to take pics of the box yet. I will take pics when I start to get it installed. Soon... I need bass back. Here are just some boring pics of the sub PS- Anyone ever notice how similar the AA symbol and the Coors symbol are???? Look at the next to last pic.
  25. UPDATE: I got the braces redone to fit where I want them, painted the inside of the box, and put the silver shiny coat on the inside and the port. I'm going to wait to put pics up until it is all done (should be Christmas day or the day after). I am still waiting on my LEDs to come in the mail, and the sub is sitting here freshly recone, never seen power PS - I probably put pics of what I've done so far up later today along w/ pics of the sub!
