I agree with all who said you need an amp to get anything decent out of your system. My pick for a non costly set would be Phoenix Gold RSD on Ebay. I think you can get them for under $150 shipped. They sound much much much better than Alpine S or Kicker KS. cool i've heard good things about the rsd set.

have you taken the speak out of the door yet? if not do it and put a dmm to it to see the ohm rating. also might wanna play it while its out to see if you can see anything grounding out or what could cause it to stop playing suddenly. also have you checked your rca wires? maybe one of them is bad and is causeing the speak to stop playing randomly.

ya i heard atleast 1inch is needed so 3.5 should be plenty. i would be more worried about bracing on that piece.

i have mine firing to the passenger side but only cause i drive a grand am the the rear seat folds down but in halfs. so i fold the passenger side down to let bass in the cabin. plus my box isn't very big so i can cram it ll the way up agaisnt the wall and still be able to use some of my trunk.

had the same problem decideed to port to the side. one of the threads of BJ's says that fireing the port to the side lowers the cars peak a few hz. what kind of car you got?

hmmm well it would defiantly be ported, i think im gonna keep looking at a single 12 havoc or maybe 2 10's if i can find the right ones. thanks for the help though.

well it looks like im either going with some alpine type s or kicker ds speaks depending on whichever i can get cheaper.

well if you were on a boat the cabin gain would be almost zero so midbass probally would suck. bump though as i am also interrested since im trying to pick some cheap speaks for the car.

well if i get coax's what am i going to do with the stock tweet? since my car already has a stock "componet" set if i get coax would i have to disconecct the stock tweet or just use it and have crazy highs?

how much power do you have on them? i was lookin at the type s cause they need less power then the type r. im only using the HU so i only have around 20wrms to play with.

i know cheap and good aren't allways in the same sentence but thats what i need. so heres the deal i have stock speaks right now powered off my 580mp pioneer HU. the stock tweets i can handle although they suck compared to others i can deal with them for now but the mid-range is just too crappy. i hate listening to rock and have the gutair sound awful cuase the speaks are chit, now for what i need. first has to be cheap im a college kid that is currently layed off so income is low so trying to keep this around $150 shipped maxed. another problem is power since im poor i am going to use my HU for the time being for power so i need something a little high on efficieny. i want to just take the old out put the new in and be done. im not a crazy sq person so i don't need anything high end just something beter than stock. so far i was looking into the alpine type s and kicker ks speaks on ebay but wanted some more opinions.

well if there only dvc2 looks like i would only be able to get 1 12 to match my amp. thanks for the input.

i know the rms is 1000w but how would they do with 600wrms? im want to go with 2 10's off my RE12.1 and seen these look pretty promiseing. also can i get them in dvc4? or would 1 12 do better with all 1200wrms than 2 10's with 600 each?

looks nice, did you use any expanding foam on the trrunk lid? i used it on mine and it helped a bunch and its cheap. also don't worry so much about the fender wells just worry about areas that have flat surfaces, i've noticed that those areas useally vibrate more. looks really nice, don't forget to ost pics of the doors also.

Nice work as allways. quick question though are there any side effects of a side firing port? im thinking of building a ported box for my 15 but the only way i can get enough room is too have the port fire to the side of the trunk, just wondering what results would be.

just posting i have a AA atlas 15 for sale, its a prety good sub known for its SQ. its svc4 though, asking $150 shipped. Also have you looked into SI mag? another good sub but im not sure of the price.
