nah..not if you have cooling technology that works ..biggest problem that we had was people burning tinsel leads up due to those lovely cheap korean high current amplifiers..we only had a handful of coils that people literally burned them up, most of that was due to wiring a coil out of phase or an amplifier taking a dump and killing the sub with it

not watching the video..but i figure its probably a ceramic coating that is over top of the coil, precision has done it for a number of years but it does not do a whole lot of good because if you surpass the heat point of the glue that binds the wire to the coil under neath of it it will just bubble and slink off like a slinky.. it may work great when it's not in motion, but when something is put in application things changes a great deal. neat stuff though

Also, To the "You need to sell at OEM prices" argument. Absolutely not. OEM work does not involve anywhere near as much work as the Fi product line does. OEM clients buy hundreds of speakers at a time and they are all the same which makes it easy to build and do. Margins are VERY VERY VERY slim doing OEM work in the USA so you have to sell hundreds and hundreds of them in order to make a dollar.. I don't know about you, but I don't think you would like to bust your ass for 10 hours a day and walk home with 50 bucks in your pocket. That doesn't exactly pay the bills and earn you a living.

Consdiering a 20 dollar hunk of neo previously is now 114 dollars..I wouldn't be bitching if I were you. It's still cheaper then anybody else on the market, you can go pay 1800 dollars for a Z series woofer if you would like...that's known as raping the consumer. The price is only adjusted to the cost of materials going up..which EVERYTHING has gone up. We ate it for quite some time while I was there and the reason was waiting until the SP4 and Team versions of the subs were available, or near available. If you don't like it..it's as simple as not buying it. Go pay 1800 dollars for the Z series woofer or 1000-1200 dollars for the DC neo woofer. (and no, i don't work there any longer)

alpine h701 has been around for years and uses an optical input coming from the headunit.. that thing defines the term pain in the ass and unreliable though

That amp does power at 1ohm most likely (depends on the model) You would need a dual 2ohm coil wired in parallel to 1ohm.

No..the baskets are Chinese as well..minus some of the 18's, same for the dustcap and ferrite. Nobody else uses American forged steel. Nor do they machine anything in house or offer any 'custom' viable 'options' that actually enhance performance..

No..you do not move the spiders, you use the gaskets to stretch the surround down to the basket and to center it up. 10's just suck ..it is what it is.

OD on the top plate is too tight for our coils if I remember correctly. I think our thinnest coil on the OD is 4.230"

That's why we do not make a BTL 10 and why 10s have horrible cone geometry issues. That's how the parts work, you have to stretch the surround down to the basket.

You haven't a clue what is going on and the supply side issues that we have had that are 100% totally outside of our control. We have tried to release it, but every time it is ready and things are ready to roll something else happens on the supply side of things and we can not get our hands on raw materials, so the materials that we have had for it, have been used for other things. If we would have spent the extra week to pull the t/s parameters off of your woofers you would have freaked out because it "took too long". We are not going to make a brand available, until it is ready to be available. If you do not approve of that, then I am sorry. I bid you farewell and best wishes to your endeavors.
