Weird mike - That'd be the first TC-9 that i've ever heard of that would reach the back plate...unless they pulled a eduh and wound the coil too long for its own good...most of all of them that i've fooled with the cone would slap the spider landing or the spiders would slap the top plate....

Just another FYI That sub won't reach the back plate You'd have the snap the cone off at the tripple (sp?) joint to get the coil to do a tap dance on it... your clipping it and rocking the coil if it's making a clanging noise like that...unless the spiders are ganked..

Electricity doesn't flow the same...i wish i could find some diagrams of it... For a system that is Low voltage and High current (which is what the vast majority of the car audio amps put out today minus a crown) you really need to run stranded wire. I can't explain it correctly...lemme look around for a little bit - i don't want to be wrong.
