btl green dust cap
Don't like it? Don't get it.. Thus is why we have options so you can choose exactly what it is that you want. If everybody liked the same thing it would be a very boring world now wouldn't it

15 inch SSD Sealed (will it work)
2 cubes per sub works fine from experience... After that i'm unsure, the parameters don't really yield the sealed box woofer so that is why we do not recommend it. Thanks! Nick

Loss of sound??? ANy help
Sounds like you didn't have your subsonic filter set properly.

Recone kit i orderd, no confirmation, no shipment tracking, no email r
No, don't invert the dustcap, you will be right here in 3 days complaining that your dustcap blew off. I've been without internet for nearly 3 business days...so I couldn't do any emails. Scott already has you under control anyhow. You got a blank dish dustcap that fills the whole cone and integrated tinsels with your recone. Thanks! Nick

How can I get in touch with Fi
I'll catch up on email and stuff tomorrow sometime during the day. I'm getting ready to drive and get on a plane. I'll definitely get you taken care of asap and let you know. Thanks! Nick

Ascendant Audio hummer?
Yeah..don't know where the pictures are of the inside though right off the top of my head. There's the outside of Chris's hummer.

Sub caught on fire?
There's your problem...you MUST set your subsonic 2-3Hz below your tuning frequency of your enclosure. Otherwise..that happens. How would a subsonic filter, a buffer against mechanical failure, help in this situation, which was a thermal failure? I'm not saying he shouldn't have it on, I just don't knnow how it could have helped. Unless maybe overexcursion from unloading stretched/frayed/broke the tinsels, and a resulting arc lit the spider on fire. Take a pop can or a piece of aluminum... Stretch it to its mechanical limits (ie: playing under tuning with no subsonic filter) more than 20-30 times per second See how much heat builds up and when it breaks...it's simple fatigue The more you fatigue something the more likely it is to fail. Now if you keep it within its mechanical limits (with a subsonic filter for example) it will not fail and it will bend back and forth like that all day every day. The "orange" part is what happens when you start to burn the leads up with no subsonic filter / clipping. The spiders are treated so they will not actually catch on fire, but they will smolder. The yellow spiders turn a orange hue when they start to melt.

Sub caught on fire?
There's your problem...you MUST set your subsonic 2-3Hz below your tuning frequency of your enclosure. Otherwise..that happens. Standard 18" recones are $90..other options are more plus shipping. You can probably sell the motor on here if you want to sell it, there is a gentleman in the general section that is looking for a 08 BL motor.

Sub caught on fire?
It wasn't any higher than it usually is. If anything it was lower. I was just headed home with it about halfway up. No setting have been changed since i have had the same setup. If it isn't going to be covered i don't really want to send it in, because that would just take money from me getting a new sub. But i really don't think that it was my fault i don't know how it would just catch on fire when i have ran more to it than this and it was fine. I'm not saying it is fi's fault, but maybe just a malfunction within the sub... We've never had a sub spontaneously combust, but it will happen if there is a loose nut behind the volume knob, gain knob, or subsonic filter knob. Read what shizzon said...he is dead on.

Slapping noise?
Don't think it is shifted, the OD of the magnets vary as they are all pressed items that are cured after being pressed...they can vary up to 2-3mm on the outer diameter which is fine and doesn't hurt anything. You know when it shifts because the coil will not move at all. Did you play it free air on low power? Was it still making noise? Is it a metallic noise?

Sub caught on fire?
Sounds like you got a bit happy with the knobs . We've had people burp in excess of 20kw with the same number of tinsels and lead spiders that you have with zero issues... You'll have to send it in and we'll get a tech to look at it, odds are it will not be covered under warranty.

Liquid nitrogen to cool a 10 inch btl
Telling you that you are going to crack the motor and then you have a paperweight. Listen. Don't do it.
-
Noob status i know.
12awg is fine for speaker wire.. Be very very very careful running that little amp to the sub. Yes you can blow it with it.

Liquid nitrogen to cool a 10 inch btl
No.. The motor is 11.25" in diameter.

Liquid nitrogen to cool a 10 inch btl
You are going to shatter the magnets and likely burn yourself playing around with that. Good luck with that one, I don't suggest trying..as it is a waste of time, unless you are bored and feel like breaking something. You can't change the temp of ferrite like that, it'l shatter. Also..we've had people burp 4 memphis 4kw's on stock BTL's with no problems..clamped around 13kw if i remember correctly. Edit: Also personally put 10kw to a 12 waaaaaaaaaaay under tuning...

BTL in Box Software
Listen with the ears..not with the eyes. Follow our box guidelines, do not model it in a box program...real world output is FAR different then what the graph suggests.

18" Fi BTL
Why are you doing a Dual 1? You are going to burn stuff up with a D1 in parallel man...baaaaaaaaaad idea.

What size speaker wires for Fi 15Q?
12 or 14awg is fine..
- 2 btl 15s

what is amp clipping?
Love ya to death Mike but I will have to disagree... I've put accelerometers on cones of woofers/drivers in the lab and mapped them out..they actually do stop for a few milliseconds and it is at the bottom of the wave form. I'm working on a compilation of information that we've found, i'll post it all up much later..but according to the accels at soft/full clip they do indeed stop at X and Y, and heat does build up at that time period...

Slapping noise?
No. Tell him to do that and he will break it for sure. Shouldn't be having any noises...not really sure what to suggest outside of what others already have. Play it free air on low volume / power..see if it makes the noise.

18" BTL FULLY LOADED ???
Like i said If you order now and going to do that for you. But please note that it will be 4 weeks before we get the magnets back in stock, so it will take some time. We already know who orders them now what needs to happen and it will be noted. Just need to know your shirt size when ordering. Thanks!

18" BTL FULLY LOADED ???
You'll have to wait 4 weeks for them. If you order now and are willing to wait we will do full cooling for free and include a shirt with your order. We're currently out of magnets and are waiting for them to arrive. Thanks! Nick
