for those of u that have an older magnum that need recones, are we helpless with it?

how much power are we talking in a .5 ohm from a 2500d?

i was think of the money that would be lost so i am thinking of going from a hifonics 1500 to a audiobahn A1500HCT (2000x1@1 ohm) will i notice 500 watts going from 1500 to 2000? can the magnum take it with an uncliped signal? in a ported box, and yes i am trying to beat the hell out of it!!!

i was playing around with my headunit(pioneer 860mp) and switched some things that made it hit the hardest of ever!!! but i took my magnum out and looked at the coil and it looked brand new un harmed!!!(even with me turning the gain a little higher than the head units voltage) i have a bx1500d i think that i want to step up to a bx1800d or an audiobahn 1800dt will i notice it? audiobahn vs hifonics amp wise or is tunsumi a good amp?

ok so it must be that i have the box tuned too low what frequency do most rap songs play at for instance ying yang - get low lil john - knocking heads off lil wayne - bring it back

i guess tomorrow i will pry the top off of my box to take out that wall to bring it up to 34 and re seal it all. man that means that i have to snatch the back seat out dang will an air leak in a ported box make all the bass go to the outside of the car instead of stayin inside?

i thought that mabye the 3.0 is a little too big for the mag 12 the port is 12 x 3 x 36

i was thinking lately that mabye my box is to big and open? i have a 12 inch d2 in a 3.0 tuned to 28 now i am thinking something like a 2.0 tuned to 34 would be better for me. it really is deep bass heavy were only a few songs go. would a higher tuning and a smaller box be better?

UPDATE! i gave the mag a little more rang to play in,( i think i had the filter set to low) let me just say that i put to same most peoples setups with bigger speakers. most of them run the crap like lanzar,boss, legacy,pyle. i love this magnum!!!! i am gonna get a sticker that says "Stereo Integrity Magnum With Anthrax" for it this weekend. i will have the pics proboly tomorrow. one thing that i don't know how to answer properly is " what type of sub is that" i say that it is a sub from an internet comapny, memphis can't even catch up to it yet. i feel that the next thing i am gonna do is get that amp some more power with a new alternator (200amps) and a bigger fuse (200 amp fuse) would i see a difference vs using a 60 amp fuse in the front or a 200amp? the amp is a hifonics 1500d wired to 1 ohm with a 4 guage power wire

i got my si d2 saturday and put it in a 1 cubic foot box sealed and it just absolutly pounded. i then put it in a 3.0 cubic foot box tuned to 28 and it is just sick down low!!!! i have it on a bx1500d with wired to 1 ohm, (but a 60 amp fuse at the front) and trust me all i need is 1 12. i play alot of screwed up music that has a bass boost down low and man i rattles the whole car plus the house. I LOVE IT i may go inside the box and take out my last port wall to raise the tuning to 32-35 for a little more spl (like it isn't there)

the pioneer is a 8600mp i have the same one just a 860(premier). it has more features than useable, i highly recommend it it looks like i am your little brother!!!!! i am running pratically the same headunit,same amp hifonics 1500d and the same sub si magnum , plus i am ported!!!! and we own fords!!!! my mag is a 12 thou i am sure yours is a 15 i also planed on using a hifonics amp for the insides, that looks nice man to bad mine will be just painted wood. *** i just noticed the logoless design! i think that i would put something on there, it makes it look so.....cheap and generic( no offense)but on the upside it gives me a chance to put something there!!!

ok right now i have a box that is 14x30x18 3.4 cubic feet before displacement 3.0 after port and driver tuned to 28 using a 12.5x3 port lenght is 37.75. how much does .75 change a ports tuning, it is not like this is for competitions just street.? i see the magnum has a 11 1/8 hole. i don't think that i can hit that right on drawing it out by hand. can i cut an 11 inch whole, or does it come with a plot to cut out?

so does anyone know for sure if there is a problem to a port wall being only 3-4 inches if the box is 18 inches deep?

an 18 would just be flat out SICK With Anthrax!!! i am now wanting a 15 after the review but i don't think that i have the room for it. is there an upgrade plan?

now i see what the problem with that would be. the question that i was trying to ask was, is there a difference in sound if i use a 12.5x3 with the proper length tuned to 28 or a 12.5x3.5 witht the proper length tuned to 28? what is a good port cross area to have on a ported box in the 3.0 cubic ft range?

i wish i had rom for a 15 in my trunk or i sure would have got one! like the above post says PICS! how does the 12 compare to the 15? is there any loss in accurucy?

yeah the box is 18 deep on the outside. i don't see how it would be a problem, souldn't i just adjust the numbers by .75? so i would leave 3 inches from the back wall instead of 6? i thought that you had to double the width of the port, take that number and that should be the length from the back wall? so in the tunrs i would gain 3.75 instead of just .75? *EDIT: i see now thati should only leave three inches from the back wall. but the thing is now that i will get 3.75 inches in the turns instead of just .75? * this is the box that i wass looking at and adjusting my numbers from EDIT 2: I just found my secong mistake. * my last question is how do i calculate port displacement? and what are the differences in have a port cross area of 37.5(12.5x3x34.83) and43.7512.5x3.5x41)? would my 12.5x 3 be good enough?

the las questions are. what is the displacement for magnum 12? i have a port of 12.5x3 that is 34 inches long. my box is 18 inches deep so there are only 2 turns is that enough port cross area is 37.50 is this ok i am just gonna buy a wood sheet and cut it mysel, last time i got a bad cut from home depot!

ok i think that i will get it right now. i just got back from playing with my memphis sub with 200 watts. * first it was in a leaky ported box(1.5 @ 32), sounded like wet A**. all the bass was on the outside of the car. i put it back in a cubic ft sealed box and set the settings and let it rip. i patched up the ported box and left the settings like they were. IT IS A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!!! GET LOW ACTUALLY GETS LOW!!! the difference a small air leak can do even on a ported box. makes me think about what the magnum will do with just 500 watts in a air leak free and bigger ported box!!! with the settings the same going from sealed to ported, i sounded like it tripled output. sealed with the volume at 29 sounded like ported at 8. it is amazing!!!

ahh so like a gasket sort to say around the port for the wood to mate to. wood glue, like gorilla gluein between them and screw them, them chalk the inside right? i feel like making two boxes a sealed and a ported now. one other question to be clear if the volume of the box is 3.0 internal before any displacement. do i plug that into winisd to find the port length or 2.5 with displacement of port and driver already in it? it is saying that if i use a 3 inch round port it wil need to be 5.32 inches that is not long atall, is something wrong
