Initial SPL 12 SPL testing
was the 9512 just a standard one, or did it have any upgrades?

SPL-15 Pre-order - You're nuts if you don't go for it
are the 15"s getting new terminals?

Initial SPL 12 impressions
hmm... seems like those terminals arnt a big hit.. Also.. I dont think you'll be able to blow that woofer up very easily.. But that's just what I think

SPL-15
The problem is that usually when you say "SPL" people want big. I bleieve that the 15" would sell better than the 12" as long as it's in a reasonable price range. If you did do an 18" however, I'd be all over it.

18" RE SX
When I first bought my SX18 I was really skeptical with the weight of the woofer as well. But she's been taking a lot of power since then.. It currently resides in my living room taking care of the lows.

SPL 12 issue
well we just threw the box it as in to my car, aimed it to the hatch, and metered it.. 145.5 as is.

SPL 12 issue
it FINALLY went.. It took about another 15 minutes on the wall... then we pulled it out of the enclosure, and it took about another 4 or 5.. A lot of smoke came off of that puppy.

SPL 12 issue
I just gave it another 4 ~30 second burps with about 5 seconds in between each.. then the breaker went again.. I gotta wait until the guy living downstairs gets home to flip 'er back on.. I'm kinda sketchy about plugging it into the 220 though. There's something about sticking to wires into an outlet that scares me... But who knows.. either way.. Right now she's still trucking.

SPL 12 issue
it wasnt talked about until after post 16.. I completely understand where you guys are coming from though. It is a stupid idea to put a woofer to the wall socket first thing.. But it's a sink or swim world. If it had blown right aways, I would have probably gone with a different woofer. But we'll see what the socket has in store for it now.

SPL 12 issue
it was in an enclosure that is 1.75 cubic feet after displacements tuned to 53 hertz and for the record.. I guess the coils can handle 14000 watts.

SPL 12 issue
I am wondering why it was that part of it that failed. I had an old Kicker Solo (round) last a hell of a lot longer than the mach 5. Now don't get me wrong, in no way am I comparing the two. But I would like to see Mark understand the problem I have, and possibly fix the first thing that had failed. More than likely I will be buying more of these woofers. And I don't plan on getting anything fixed under warranty (unless it actually is a manufacturers defect).

SPL 12 issue
it was wired in parallel, maybe 1-2 second bursts, with about 10 seconds between.. probably a total of 10 burps. Everytihng is mint other than the cone. I'm going to try a glue that was recommended to me by DB Don tomorrow. If all goes well, I'll most likely be purchasing a few more of the woofers. I was also wondering if this has happened before. I find there's no better way to find out the weak spot on a sub then giving it all she can take.

SPL 12 issue
well I recently got an SPL 12 and I was doing some "breaking in" with the wall outlet. well the top layer of paper on the cone started seperating from the rest, and the cap eventually came off during regular use. My question is: Do I recone using mach 5 parts, or should I look for a tougher recone? Also, until I recone I will continue to use the woofer (gluing the cap back on) until I've decided. One more question directed at Mark. Is there any way that you could get different cones in?
