  1. Why not get a larger Kinetik for under the hood ? I was told they not good bats for under-the-hood-. because of the heat...
  2. yea. i ve heard some serious war stories wit the red tops. one guy was even trying to sue optima for all the bad batteries he got. crazy thing is, he didnt even have an audio system!!
  3. If your trying to stay the same size I would go Deka Intimidator, they are cheaper or around the sameprice but better in performance. never heard of em. is this a battery?
  4. Hey fellas!! its been a while since i last was on here. its good to see the forum still going strong!! I gots a situation i needs help with fellas. I just ordered an 220 iraggi alt for my car. I've been having battery issues for a few months now and im convinced a new alt will defitnely help my setup and maybe fix my battery issues. I have an optima red top under the hood and a kintek 800 in the back next to the amps run in series. The optima has been recharged twice and from what im told needs to be recharged again. I've done a lil research and from what i gather, optima aint the company they used to be. im sick of my red top, so my question is whats a better battery? people say its just the red tops that suck and that i should switch to blue tops. others say go with odyssey or interstate. any suggestions?
  5. i finally installed my system and im looking to get another hu. I currently own a JVC KD-AVX2. I've been looking at other radios and i want a lil more out of my hu. I kinda want a screen, too. I've looked at these models and i cant decide what might be best... Clarion: VRX785BT, VRX585USB JVC: NX-5000, KD-AVX44J
  6. I was gonna strap the 1500's. Think i'll be okay? You should be ok for everyday. I wouldn't be cruising around at max (clean unclipped) volume if I were you. I dont intend on beating it that hard. Honestly, I just want the ability to call on that kinda power if i need to. Say if i enter a car show a decide to take a crack at a competition I got the power at my fingertips.....
  7. I was gonna strap the 1500's. Think i'll be okay?
  8. i have 2 RE SX12D2's. 2 ohm load.....
  9. i went ahead and ordered 2 SAZ-1500D's. I had a stock battery but i purchased a Duralast Gold Yellow Top before i started on my system. I got a 200 amp alt coming and i purchased a Kinetik HC1800 to go in the trunk. IS this enough? i wanted to do the big 3 upgrade but i wouldnt know where to start much less what to do. is adding the extra bat and changing the alt enough?
  10. regulated or unregulated? im not following u.......
  11. This brings me to a very intersting question. No one has been able to give me the straight and narrow on regulated amps versus unregulated amps. whats the difference? is one better than the other? is one easier on a charging system than the other?
  12. but if a extra bat is gonna strain the alt why do it when i can get a 10 farad stinger cap? its a waste of money bro..you wont get the results from it to justify the price of one.. and extra bat is an additional load on the alt. im concerned about the charging system but if adding an additional bat is gonna cause me more problems, wouldnt it be easier to just get the cap?
  13. but if a extra bat is gonna strain the alt why do it when i can get a 10 farad stinger cap?
  14. Never checked. Honestly, i know there is a company that makes a alt for my car. i just know its gonna be extremely high priced and if i dont have to spend that kinda money, i wont. thats why i asked about using a massive cap.....
  15. yea. i have an 03 ford taurus...sux right? lol
  16. okay, heres the score: i have two RE SX 12D2's i purchased. I wanna power them with 2 Sundown Audio 1500's. I have a stock alternator and it pushes about 160 amps. ive searched for another alt but they dont have one for my vehicle. I was told to purchase a seperate battery but i know its just another load on the alternatorso my question is would it be better to purchase one big capacitor, (i.e. a 10 or 20 farad) or just purchase another battery? thanx
  17. hey folks I was hoping u fellas could help me on an amp decision. I think i finally got a pretty good box build at 2.5 cuft per woofer. I have two 12 RE SX 12D2's. I listen to alot of rap and R&B and while i am a lil concerned about SQ, I know i'm a bass head at heart. I want a beast of a daily driver but i also want to be able to take a crack at competitons say one comes my way... any suggestions?
  18. Name: O'Neal Jones III Vehicle I have: 2003 Ford Taurus SE System: 4 Cadence CVL compnent 6x9's and 8 CVL Tweets. for the highs and mids with a Cadence Armadeus 6004 powering them. My Bass consists of: 2 RE SX12D2's, custom ported enclosure at 2.5 cubes. Still deciding on amps but I think i'm gonna go with two Lunar 1525's and stick a Kintek 2400 in the trunk. My HU is a JVC-KDAVX2 I started messing with car audio when I turned about 19. The guys here just were beating the block but nothing aggrivates me more than raggedy cars with just boom. When i first started i spent like 600 dollars and the system sounded whack as hell. I guess you get what you pay for. After my first flop i went looking around and spent a **** load on eclipse but sold everything to explore new products and push my car to its limits. Never Satisfied. Did a few competions but poor box design and installation problems didnt help me place. Was a frequent visitor on other forums and really i'm just here to gain knowledge and hang out with audio junkies like myself. Its been a pleasure and I look forward to chatting and posting with you folks....
