want to push my 12's to the limit
A serious subwoofer for serious people! Maybe that should be my new slogan? > nuts because fools ears are going to be bleeding, or because im going to blow my woofers? Maybe a little bit of both Just be careful though, and you should only have to worry about your ears

Premium & Ignition Series Updates
The baskets are made, but we had to source them from China so they're currently undertaking the long voyage by sea towards the port of Los Angeles.. I'm estimating about 2 to 4 weeks before they are ready to ship. The waitlist is a little ridiculous and continually getting bigger - but of course seeing as some of those people have been waiting for months now, I'm sure they may have opted for something else .. ah well, I can't blame 'em! But I also can't wait to get these new mothers together and bumpin', they should be something sweet

Need help with SL-i
0.57 cu ft sealed per RL-i10 is just fine for these drivers (0.4 - 0.8 cu ft sealed being my most common recommendation). I would suggest powering them with anywhere from 250 - 350 watts per driver.

so i got my 15 RL-p metered...
Glad you're enjoying 'er

Thanks - I think it is. She's pushin' on 90 years and has led a long stressful life between her husband being forced into WW I and dying right after my mother was born, then having to care for her as infant in Estonia all the while the Nazis and Communists are occupying parts of Europe and bombs are being dropped left and right, only to escape to Sweden where she didn't know the language, ultimately gettin' on over to Ellis Island and then California; all in the spance of a decade. Man these stories she has... it's amazing what some people have lived through! Back to the point, she doesn't like to deal with cooking for herself anymore or any of the maintenance of day-to-day. This Sunrise Living place is like a Vegas hotel, she's on the fifth and top floor, they're still putting paint on the walls in some rooms and offer full-service meal selection, activities, etc (in other words it doesn't look nearly as bad as the retirement homes do in the movies ). Surely the interaction with more people will be good for her

Anyone ever checked to see how warm the cone gets?
Heh, bummer.. Glad you chimed in - I was startin' to feel like an ass for speculating that you had made the comment, and then second guessing my intuition

barnie, I'm sorry man but between all the emails I can't keep track of who you are! I do have a small chunk of emails that I haven't gotten back to today (as well as two distributor-related emails that I haven't fielded from earlier this week) - but if your email was sent prior to that it may have gotten lost in cyberspace. If you're Dave or Henry, then I do have your email I just haven't had a chance to field 'em yet. My grandmother has sold the last home she's lived in and is moving into a Sunrise Assisted Living complex so this week has been quite hectic helping her sort out all of her things. Both emotionally and physically exhuasting! If you're not Dave or Henry, go ahead and drop me another email - and even if you are, don't feel bad about spammin' the hell outta me IF it's for a good cause

I said the majority! You, my friend, are in the minority (so far)!

Anyone ever checked to see how warm the cone gets?
I believe it was actually denim who brought up the deformation comment (at any rate, it surely wasn't me). Anytime an aluminum cone is moving you should not touch it, as the force of impact could dent it. However, if a warm cone is at rest, there should not be any problems in touching it. If you're really juicin' the driver, the cone can almost be too hot to touch, but it still maintains its structural integrity just fine so long as you aren't beating the poor thing.

The ring has been as exciting as a girl who says..
Yea so far the majority of testing has been done with less-than-ample power for maximum performance. I'm sure this will change, but patience! I have not heard back from the guy that snagged the dual drivers, but perhaps I will drop him another line to see how things are progressing..

RL-p, 1.75cubes, ported or sealed?
Sure EQ'ing can work, but I don't think most people have decent EQ's in car audio.. at least not the people I've come across who usually have a 2-3 band build-in EQ on their headunit
-
RL-p, 1.75cubes, ported or sealed?
They should be performing fairly well, however if you find that the sound is a little muddy I would suggest slimmin' down your box size a bit to between 1.1 - 1.4 cu ft net volume (~1.3 - 1.6 cu ft gross) per driver. Of course it all depends on how you like your sound, as you will get slightly more output in the current enclosure if at the expense of some clarity. 1.5 cu ft vented enclosure tuned to 34 Hz would be awesome.
-
RL-i 10's arrived, now box questions
I would try to keep sealed box volume above 0.4 (and up to 0.75) cu ft/driver. Try adding up to 1 lb polyfill stuffing as well.
-
difference between HT and CA watts supply?
As supa_c stated, the physical environment that you are designing your system for is of greater significance/consideration than the amount of power used (providing you are powering the driver within its recommended range). To ensure the RL-s is operating at full steam during even the most draining excursions, I would suggest having a solid 1.5-2.5 kW on hand. So far as the box - the bigger the better .. though you can get away with 2 and 4 cu ft respectively, for the RL-s 12 and 15.
-
Uh Oh.......
Hehe.. there are plenty more people to have a go at it! Some of them have some serious power ready to be unleashed
-
RL-i 10's arrived, now box questions
Remove it, it will have no effect on the performance of the driver. It is primarily a cosmetic piece.

Voice coil diameter on Rl-p's?
Heat dissapation from the voicecoil is sourced through the pole vent and the heatsinked aluminum cone. For pricing, ordering, and discussion your PR's - do send me an email.
