Voice coil diameter on Rl-p's?
3" voicecoil on the RL-p (maximum power handling of 1200 watts, reaching full excursion in most applications with 600-700 watts). Yes it is a TC9 based design, with a modified suspension and various materials used that are different from the OG TC9's, such as NBR rubber surround and the annodized aluminum cone.

SS-S Demo Ring
Hehe, I suck - I should've posted the full list and estimated time slots today but I had to get over here to my friend's house to feed their dog, as I'm house-sitting over the weekend while them lucky bast'ds are road-trippin' it up the coast in an old Austin Heely! Ah well, at least the beer is stocked and the BBQ hot! I'll promise I'll have the list posted at some point over the weekend when I get back to my casa. Next up I do believe is squeak9798

Assistance Please
> Let's put it this way, What AMP in the $900 to $1000 Range would do the RL-p justice? A whole lotta 'em!.. honestly you don't need to spend that much on an amp. As you've already found, the Nine.1 is a suitable amplifier that is currently used by quite a few of my customers. Other popular and practical amplifiers that I see my customers using include variations from Orion and HiFonics. For the RL-p, I would ideally aim for 600-800 watts per speaker. For the RL-s, 1200-1600 watts per speaker. If you wanted to run with the RL-s, I would advise a minimum enclosure volume of 3 cu ft sealed on the 12". On the RL-p12, I would shoot for 1.5 - 2.0 cu ft net @ 28 - 34 Hz (34 Hz for more output, 28 Hz for more low-frequency extension) Hit me with an email if you'd like to discuss this in greater detail.

Premium & Ignition Series Updates
.. and as I posted in that thread, I don't really want to give conclusive statements on a line that is in the midst of all sorts of supply delays BUT, I certainly wouldn't mind the RL-i12 making a comeback

Premium & Ignition Series Updates
I don't doubt having fewer variations in inventory caused me to lose a few sales. But it was necessary at the time, given the cash flow that was available and the added costs for stocking the different voice coil configurations. A tradeoff to be sure, but since the D4 was selling more than the D2, and our brother forum SI already carried a popular D2 driver, I made the decision to ditch it - fortunately, it was only temporary! The RL-s will be staying where it is for now. RL-i's will almost surely be made available in both dual 2 and dual 4, however as they are out for the moment, let's wait until they are in the picture again before making conclusive statements

Guess what i got....
~2400w - I'm a bit pissed I haven't had enough time to play with it in a multitude of applications.. yet! Got sick last week, piled to the gills with work, and house-sittin' for friends and family (3 houses at the moment, not to mention my own!), makes for little play time Though I'm definitely diggin' the responses people from the demo-ring are giving for their various app's .

www.Acoustic-Visions.com
I was waiting until I had the new logo units in hand before re-up'ing the pages. Too many tables, that code makes me dizzy.. don't want to fex with it more than I need to! You should notice some streamlining of the website over the coming week.

Guess what i got....
I'm comin' to your house first when I find a certain fried RL-s on my doorstep! No but seriously, I wouldn't doubt it'd handle short bursts - like training.. or something PS. I don't recommend it

www.Acoustic-Visions.com
Glad you brought this up as I do need to address this issue. SoundSplinter.com will never be beaten in terms of price, however on that note the prices on our RL-p drivers will rise next week. I've actually been holding off on this very slight increase in pricing for almost 6 months now. Some may remember me b

www.Acoustic-Visions.com
This is an exciting time for SoundSplinter, as the past year has proven the quality and interest in our subwoofers, we have had a considerable amount of businesses approach us to help distribute our products. It has been and still is highly unlikely you will see SoundSplinter in your local audio shop, as our margins are often too low to make such a relationship appealing to the reseller. However, internet sales are another story all together, and we will provide drop-shipping services for reputable online merchants who wish to carry the SoundSplinter name in their inventory. This is just a quick blurb to let you all know that Acoustic-Visions.com is now an authorized reseller of SoundSplinter products. Welcome aboard!

Premium & Ignition Series Updates
First off, you can see the new logo that we are using on all new Premium Series drivers in the above picture. It came out beautifully on the annodized aluminum cones, crisp printing with a slightly metallic copper sheen to it. We will be phasing this logo onto all new Premium and future Ignition Series drivers. All current 12" RL-p's feature this logo, while the 15" RL-p will continue to feature the solid "S" logo until the current stock runs out. Secondly, we received our new 12" stock this week and now have both the RL-p12 and RL-p15 D4 drivers available for immediate shipping. Third, and perhaps the most exciting news - due to popular demand, we are re- introducing the dual 2ohm voicecoil configuration on both the RL-p12 and RL-p15 drivers. This coil configuration will be ready to ship by next week! Lastly, I would like to express my sincere apologies for the delays in restocking our 8" and 10" RL-i Series drivers. My most realistic estimate for availability on both of these drivers is anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks time. This means that we could feasibly see December arrive before these drivers are availble for shipping again . The principle delay at the moment is a basket shortage on both sizes. We could have had the 8" drivers ready sooner if I decided to move with a grey 4-spoke basket, however it does not offer the same clearance as the original 10- spoke and I did not want to risk the integrity of the driver in order to speed up the process. At any rate, Ignition Series drivers will be available again before 2006, and hopefully by early November. As always, if anyone has any questions or concerns, I welcome you to email me, shoot me over a private message, or just post your thoughts here on our forum! Big thanks to the SSAudio crew for giving SoundSplinter a home on the 'net, many of you have really helped to get this business off the ground floor by telling your friends or just letting people listen to your equipment, so thank you! Don't forget that I will give a $10 credit for each person you refer that mentions your name at their time of purchase. All SSAudio members also qualify for free shipping on our Supreme Series drivers through October 15th!

SS-S Demo Ring
I just shipped out a Pair of Supreme 12's today to a person who is going to run a HiFonics Colossus tested to put out 3030 watts @ 2ohms. A little o'er 1500 watts a piece should do the trick. I will do my best to encourage him to post his findings here

rli-8 done yet?
I still have everyone who has asked to be, on my waiting list - however I also have some unfortunate news to bring to you. A basket shortage is upon us and the in-house baskets we were going to use have proven too small for the design of the woofer. New baskets have been ordered, but this means my 4 week "conservative" estimate above has now become a 4 week "optimistic" estimate . It could in fact be two more months before these make it back to market

RL-p not impactfull enough
Yea I can't think of any reason why the inverted setup would offer significantly less output over the traditional mount, other than noise cancellation issues. Let us know how things progress!
-
Hey guys...
You don't need to go smaller, but if you are looking to conserve space I feel you could drop the enclosure down to 2.5 cu ft net volume per driver and still have a great setup. Fot maximum output and the flattest response, I would suggest the 3.5 cu ft net volume you're working with, along with a tuning frequency around 28 Hz or lower. If you are not so concerned with minor peaks in the response curve, tuning up to 34 Hz will increase your overall output and still sound very damn good

Guess what i got....
I sure hope you get a chance to sync those amp's - this is a woofer thirsty for lots o' juice!

SS-S Demo Ring
Ah, it's not so bad. I have at least 10 blocks of residential housing between myself and the base of the mountain that the fire is consuming. It would be a miracle if it made it all the way to my place, as it would have to cross over a thick 4-lane (with parking on both sides) boulevard to do so. Sucks for those that are losin' their houses though The smoke made for a killer sunset.. if I get a chance I'll throw up some pic's in the off-topic section or something

Guess what i got....
Yea, yea I got suckered into that one They slipped by a batch of those on my RL-p12 D2 group buy order since those are what they had in stock at the moment, and since this is the first complaint I've heard (actually received a few compliments prior!), I figured I'd let 'em keep using them until they're out. All current RL-s drivers will come with the embossed gasket. No problem about those scratches mrray - it's bound to happen sooner or later! .. and Jelly, indeed these coils are closer to single 4ohm than single 3ohm. The boxes were labeled prior to testing the end product, hence the discrepancy. I will scratch out the "3" on future shipments in order to avoid confusion. This driver is designed to shine with 1000 - 1600 watts.
