Unless my car blows up (which is certainly an option given my prior track record with those wheels ), I will certainly do my best to get all of the remaining orders out. The primary reason for the one day delay on some of the orders is that these last drivers are the ones that included special requests (like being signed ) I'll be on my way to my stock room in about an hour, where I'll finish packin' up the remaining drivers and get them out by the evening pickup!

Need help
The 15's will of course have the potential to give you more output, due to the increased potential displacement. Both the 15's and 12's will sound equally good in my opinion - though of course the 15's may be more impressive due to the increased output as well as the gargantuan look of the things . Disadvantages of the 15's would be the increased cost and space required to run them. It's really up to how crazy you want to get with your project! B)

Hello Allenzo - why not try both your amplifiers and choose the one that you like the best? If you are disatissfied, then go ahead and shop around.. but you should be fine with the choices you have. Just remember, these drivers don't need 1000 watts to perform well. In my opinion, the risks outweigh the benefits when using 1000 watts +. The benefits, you get a marginal amount of increased output. The risks however, you put the driver in danger of being damaged if you don't have your gain set accurately and your box isn't designed to spec. With 2 cubes @ 34 Hz, I would be very careful with your gain if you decide to run 1000+ watts. It would be safer (and just as enjoyable) with less wattage imho. I've said it before and I'll keep on sayin' it: fried coils and signs of extreme overexcursion are not covered under warranty!

Happy B-Day denim! [update] I shipped out the following orders this afternoon: 20050429-117 20050429-119 20050429-120 20050429-122 20050429-124 20050429-125 20050429-126 20050511-140 20050513-152 The rest should be going out tomorrow, and as soon as I can get the paperwork in order I will be sending out tracking numbers. Also, Joey F. - Order #20050502-131: Your order has been delayed due to a city/zipcode mismatch. As a result, FedEx would not accept the shipment. I emailed you about this, but just in case you read this first... check yo' email!

Would Either of these amps work with RL-i?
Indeed, the RL-i series is not as capable of handling extreme power loads as the RL-p series. Going over 400 watts is not necessary and not adviseable in my opinion. If you're careful and know what you're doing (and willing to assume responsibility for a damaged driver ), go ahead -- but be forewarned! About the "S" logo, I do not believe I have any drivers with that logo at present. If I do, it would be on an old model RL-i10 or 12 (and I'm pretty sure I'd only have one driver with it). I do have a batch on order that will use the logo again, but I am waiting on some sample prints prior to implementing it into production, such that I may choose from a few different colors and sizes to get the one I think looks the most aesthetically pleasing.

I plan to start shipping... TODAY!

problem solved?
Not sure on your port area... but with the recommended 35 square inches of port area, and 3.1 cu ft net volume.. I believe your port length should be 28.9 in (73.3 cm) to achieve a tuning frequency of 30 Hz.

Time to reshoot the RL-p's
Heh.. I understand - and I am going to have the Premium page updated as well. Things came up and I've found my time short as of late, but I will certainly get to whippin' up more robust Premium pages, no worries there! .. all things considered it may be a blessing in disguise, as my RL-p stock is dangerously low so all the more attention I can attract to the RL-i (for the time being), the better!

RLP-15 info
Yep 2.5 - 3 cu ft net volume, tuned to 28-34 Hz, with 35 square inches of port area is a solid vented in-car setup. In home, 3 - 3.5 cu ft net volume, tuned to 22-24 Hz, with 40 square inches of port area will be kickin'. Sealed I would suggest 2 cu ft net volume.

Well, nothing yet, so unless the last parts arrive by noon tomorrow, the drivers will be going out next week. My apologies once more, but I will get 'em out as soon as time permits! Thanks in advance for your patience

Rl-i's with 9.1 question
Yep, still have a few dual 4ohm RL-i12's laying around.. contact me if you're interested. They're currently going for $175 a piece. You're going to have to be careful with the Nine.1 on two RL-i series woofers. The 10" and 12" models have the same power requisites/limits.. and if you're porting them, I would not advocate going over 350 watts per driver. Sealed, you'd be safe with up to 500 watts, but above that you'll need to be very careful with your gain and enclosure.. as fried coils aren't covered under the 1 yr warranty! In short, two RL-i's off the Nine.1 is doable, but you need to be responsible

Heh, I was waiting for someone to ask too! OK, so the deal is as follows. The special order of drivers has finished production today BUT, the hexi-comb cardboard packaging inserts and gaskets had not arrived as of 11am this morning. Provided that they show up and the woofers can be boxed by 11am Friday, I should be able to ship them out that same day. However, knowing how missing parts have gone in the past, I would set yourselves up for a possible 4-5 day delay in shipping. If the inserts and gaskets do not arrive by Friday, I will have to pick them up on Tuesday and ship out by Wednesday at the latest. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but I am working to get these drivers shipped as soon as possible. I will post an update if and when the inserts / gaskets arrive this week. Until then, sit tight, practice your patience, and forgive me for a possible short delay!

So far as damage is concerned, cosmetic damage is not a problem. But if that woofer comes back with a fried coil I will be mighty pissed! In fact, thank you for bringing this up - if the driver comes back with a burnt coil or you dropped it and the basket cracks or other parts break, I will be charging a $175 fee to the party responsible - I will be absorbing some of the cost of course, but I don't want people to be reckless with the driver, which they might if they think that they can just destroy the damn thing! Steve, you and a few others have got lucky with that basket! Save for strict home theater woofers, TC keeps that one reserved for Eclipse

Good Match?
Indeed they should be up to the task - just make sure your enclosure and gain is set appropriately!

Psycho, believe me - this driver will be a monster. We're hoping (and truly believing) that these will be amongst the most capable woofers ever available worldwide. Virtually zero distortion, coupled with incredible output at reasonable power handling, and available for an honest price. Of course, we do have to consider the marketing of the product, which is why we will also try to tweak various parameters to appear more appealing to the average consumer (even if in truth, they don't make much of a difference). Nonetheless, you may rest assured that we will NOT compromise the functionality of the driver in order to attain every marketing goal. The quality of the product always comes first!

Logo cosmetics have not yet been decided. Squeak, I'd love to do everything my way, but you gotta keep good relations with your partners in crim-- I mean, business. Hell the only crime would be not letting people get ahold of these drivers B)

Proto ?
Indeed, inductance will not affect the performance of our subwoofers much if at all. However that said, it is looking like the inductance on the new RL-s drivers will be around 1.6 - 2 mH.. though this is a tentative remark as the initial proto's were up around 6 mH Only time will tell ... but in the interests of keeping the most minds at ease, we will try to keep the inductance as low as possible.
-
RLP RMS?
Squeak is correct that it will largely reply on your box. Additionally, powerhandling on the 12" and 15" models of the RL-p series is for all our purposes equal - so indeed a more relevant question would be to compare the suggested power handling between two different boxes. For your question, ONE RL-p15 would handle roughly half as much as TWO RL-p12's, cumulatively.

SoundSplinter LMT sub
I doubt that'll happen... at least not anytime soon, as the current coils are not suitable for small drivers and it would require quite a bit more tooling to come up with a rock solid design. In my opinion, we'll see an 18" LM driver before we see an 8"

My Rl-p
Unfortunately no. It just takes too much time and added cost to make it worthwhile. It's enough of a headache trying to get my relatively large orders off the line.. trying to squeeze in single units here and there only serves to complicate the process and in turn drive the people down at TC, and myself, nuts My apologies, but for now the 8's are all D4's.

Supreme Series LMT Prototype Pictures
These will be optimized for relatively small boxes. Maybe a tad bit larger than the optimal enclosures for our RL-p series, but comparable nonetheless. ngsm, I don't think you'll want the driver that was scrapped - it's not a very good driver to tell you the truth. Came out with an absolutely wicked impedance curve .. so wicked in fact, that the Praxis software we were using to measure the T/S param's couldn't even figure the param's out! squeak, I am not going to offer these at a lower initial price due to concerns from the build house. I already got enough sh
