  1. Absolute Minimum of 50 square inches per driver. Recommended to shoot for around 80 square inches per driver.
  2. Shipping on Two RL-i8's to Alaska will run: $112 via FedEx Home Delivery (4 business days) $64 via USPS Parcel Post (could take a few weeks) $88 via USPS Priority Mail (3 business days)
  3. He sure did. [Link]
  4. Too many potentials to list my friend, I wouldn't want to single out a select few amongst so many solid choices. BUT, I'm sure there are some others 'round here who wouldn't mind droppin' a few names
  5. Miracle on Oxsign's Street!
  6. That will be a bit peaky, but it'll also be pretty impressive if SPL is your primary initiative. For a smoother overall response, I would take it down to around 1.25 cu ft shared, tuned at 32 Hz. On the amplifier, try to get a solid 400 watts RMS fed to each driver.
  7. Terrible news, sorry you have to deal with this Vic! I just had my car broken into last week with about $400 worth of damage so we're kinda in the same boat (not that its any consolation - but you're not alone in havin' to face the untimely and craptastic hurtles that life throws at us from time to time!). At least they didn't have a chance to get the stereo before my neighbor came out, but the arseho got away anyway. Filed a report, though I doubt anything will come of it. Check your PM's.
  8. Kickass! Thanks for sharing, tis one bootifully clean setup you got goin' on there. Can't wait to see what you do with the 18('s)
  9. I'm not sure I'm understanding your question, so please ask again if I didn't hit it. The RL-p18 should be able to handle a bit more power mechanically, but the coils are the same so thermally it sports the same power handling as the other two RL-p drivers. As for the spec's on the 15 and 12, those drivers are staying the same (i.e. there are no changes being made to their design at this time) and therefore their T/S parameters will remain constant.
  10. It did change, our previous measurement seemed to have been a little too generous - but given the small discrepancy, it should not have been a make or break situation.
  11. I'm not one with experience shooting for peak SPL - but denim's on the right track suggesting a larger, higher-tuned enclosure than is typical. You'd should probably go upwards of 1 cu ft and tune above 35 Hz.. it won't sound the best for the music experience, but it will get loud. Of course, to reach max SPL in your specific vehicle will take some degree of trial and error as well. You could also try to bribe the boys at TeamToxicBass to let you in on their HellBoy design
  12. Nope, not currently - I couldn't be that predictable! Not to mention, inventory is coming in slow on those D2's so I'm trying to avoid an out-of-stock situation.
  13. Thanks for the idea DevilDriver - the FAQ will definitely be added to as time permits. If anyone else has ideas for topics they would like to see covered, please post 'em! Good luck on the duty M5, here's hoping those darn lawyers get to the point sooner rather than later! Kent, unfortuantely I think those TTB guys are planning on selling their enclosures as a finished product (I noticed they no longer offer custom blueprints even), so I imagine they're not going to want to share their plans =[
  14. Greetings all! After a couple of weeks wading through our terribly disjointed website code to refresh our look and improve the ability to add future content, the streamlined design is finally back online. A week of jury duty in between didn't help matters progress on my intended time table, but things are finally stackin' up and business is back on track. Check out the new WebSite (feedback appreciated!) RL-p18 now available in both dual 4 and dual 2 ohm Price reduced on our RL-s12 from $499 to $449 ($409 per unit when ordering two or more) TeamToxicBass is using our RL-i8 drivers for ongoing promotion: Check out Project Hellboy Just wanted to keep the loyal fans (and new lurkers) appraised of what's up over here in California! Hope all is well with everyone! Take 'er easy,

My apologies on the website - got called in for Jury Duty at the buttcrack of dawn last Wednesday.. been there ever since! Fortunately, it looks like things will wrap up by Tuesday at the latest. Unfortunately this has kept me from gettin' the website back online for a whole freakin' week now... this weekend won't be much of a weekend for me!
  17. They are on sale... everyday! (for only three hundred and fifty nine smackas ) Let us know what you do with the woofer oxsign! Otherwise we'll have to assume its just a giant paperweight .. leading to ..

  19. Kent's got it - only online through the soundsplinter website (and a few friendly online vendors for whom I drop-ship). Shipping into Canada for the RL-p15 is typically around US$ 40 - 50 via FedEx Int'l Ground. I can do USPS Parcel as well, though they are usually a bit more expensive and take a few days longer to arrive.
  20. As I just told tez in PM - he could get away with 4 cu ft tuned around 28 - 30 Hz with acceptable results, however in my opinion his ~10 cu ft of airspace would be best used with a sealed box for optimum sound quality. If he wants to trade off for a higher peak output with a steeper low end roll-off, the relatively small ported box can work (but it wouldn't be my personal choice).
  21. May hap' there will.. but may hap' there won't! I'll tell you one thing though - You still have one hour and forty-six minutes to get in on this steal of promotion! Quite a few people are in and paid, with their brand spankin' new smexy silky huge woofers shipping out tomorrow.. don't let yourself get left in the dust!
  22. We've actually been using that logo design for quite some time now.. printed in copper on the RL-i's and RL-p's. The difference on the new RL-p is that our cone supplier couldn't fit the pad printing machine around the mondo huge 18" salad bowl and laser etchin' was the next best option. Here's a couple of pic's for relative comparison, you can see the printed logo is smoother overall, but the laser etching has a rustic "chiseled" quality to it that certainly lends some positive flavor! 23. Can't comment on dual 2 spec's until the dual 2's are built.. which won't be for at least 6 weeks!

  25. Our newest product - the RL-p18 - joins the ranks of two of the most affordable, versatile, low- distortion, high-excursion woofers in our Premium Series line of low-frequency transducers. Known for their flexibility in accomodating a variety of home and car audio applications in sealed, vented, and infinite baffle alignments, the RL-p18 steps up with its massive displacement advantage, linear output, and absolutely stellar value. Featuring a triple-stacked 215 ounce magnet structure, vented six-spoke cast aluminum basket, 3 inch voicecoil, aluminum shorting ring, dual 8.5" spiders with woven leadwires to eliminate tinsel-slap while allowing for long linear throw capability, a new tall-roll NBR rubber surround to increase effective cone area while accomodating high excursions, and our signiture rigid black anodized spun aluminum cone, including laser etched logo and complimentary rubber gasket and magnet boot - this is one hell of a massive driver which retains its practicality comin' at ya for around $400! Now, for the first looks... T/S Parameters for the RL-p18 Dual 4 Ohm (Dual 2 to be released at a later date - approximately 8 weeks) Qts - 0.493 Qes - 0.554 Qms - 4.500 Fs - 21.5 Hz Re - 6.26 Ohm Le - 4.341 mH Vas - 276 L Mms - 373g Cms - 137.7 um/N BL - 24.25 T*m Sd - 0.1188 m^2 Xmax - 27.4 mm Sensitivity - 89.25 dB @ 1W Listing public at an incredibly solid $420 for a single RL-p18! Snag two or more and pocket cash at an incredible $390 per unit! As with our RL-p15, this big brother 18 will excel in both car and home audio applications. Sealed alignments should range from 4 cu ft to infinity (with a Q ~ 0.5, infinite baffle for the win!). Lending itself in strong style to the vented alignment, consider 4 - 7 cu ft net volume in the car audio environment, with a tuning frequency near 27 - 30 Hz. For those of you in the home, try not to break any windows when pluggin' this bad boy into a 13 cu ft net volume enclosure @ 18 Hz. Need to feel it deeper in the gut? Think size matters? For those who seek the cleanest, lowest of lows, where your brain won't hear it all but your bones will sure feel it.. snap up those single Hertz signals by strappin' this bulldog into an IB and brace yourself for something fierce! Power recommendations: Sealed: Recommended 900 watts RMS (500 - 1200 watts RMS acceptable). Vented: Recommended 800 watts RMS (400 - 1000 watts RMS acceptable). Infinite Baffle / Dipole: Recommended 350 watts RMS (250 - 500 watts RMS acceptable).
