feels like im chasing a ghost... no popping or crackle. bet it comeback monday morning- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
I paid $180 for my PPI. i think this minidsp unit is the equivalent of the ppi deq rather than the dsp-88r. There's not enough difference between any of them to justify more than a $20 price difference. Still too much IMO. I'm looking to buy some new dsp's I think. in between cars I had my minidsp's in a box and my dad accidentally damaged them, at least that's my current theory. I'm still diagnosing the problem but it sounds like I'm overloading the inputs with my behringer uca222 (im hearing some static and popping) but changing the jumper didn't help. bypassing the dsp and going directly to the amp fixes the issue. But there is also some dependency on air temp which is making me second guess everything.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

http://minidsp.com/products/minidsp-in-a-box/c-dsp-6x8 275 is not a bad price for an 8 channel dsp. much cheaper than the ppi version they made, iirc.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
"This time at a giant in U.S. business. Caterpillar (CAT) announced on Thursday that job cuts could exceed 10,000 through 2018. Up to 5,000 employees will lose jobs between now and the end of 2016. The moves are aimed at cutting $1.5 billion in annual costs as the global growth outlook continues to darken." They're laying off a decent amount where I work. conventional or non-pa 6.5" drivers wont stand a chance at the output levels you're looking to achieve. what is being suggested are horns under the dash matched to a large pa driver in the doors. the horns would be something like the image dynamic full bodies.- Buick Century - active 3way + sub w/ nexus 7
Didn't get to the minidsp troubleshooting yet but I did figure out another problem I was having. I have air leaking through the right front door channel seal which causing whistling at speeds over 60mph. Spent some time taping off different portions of the window and door seal till i figured out where the failure was.- Buick Century - active 3way + sub w/ nexus 7

They all rust, irrelevant of mileage. The bad news is no mattee what you do, it's working it's way along that entire rocker already. If it were me, I would cut out the nasty stuff, apply the rust converter to inaccessible areas to repair, then fab a small patch panel and bond it in place. Just be prepared to keep finding moren ya, it sucks that this is pretty much the only bad spot. rest of the car is in pretty decent shape.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
also updated my build log with some sweet SDS action for anyone interested... i really suck at taking pictures though- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
i have some surface rust in a few other places that I need to address as well. nothing quite as bad as this though.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
any tips on dealing with rust. IL is tough on 14 yr old cars.. Only 60k miles on it and at this rate it will rust out before the mileage kills it. Thinking I'll cut it out, grind back as much rust as possible and hit it with a rust converter and primer? This is on the rocker panel along the pinch weld on a 01 buick century.- Buick Century - active 3way + sub w/ nexus 7

well, got a small update. lots of little things still need completed but i'm getting there. I took a week off and went to visit my parent and figured why not gut the car and install some more sound treatments. Prior to this install I have treated the front doors, roof, and rear deck and now i've address the remaining areas (floor and rear doors). Sorry I didn't take too many pictures. I started by gutting the car, removing some factory dampening material and then applying cdl tiles, foam, and mlv. interesting pic of the factory treatments. there is 3"+ of foam under the carpet in the foot wells. the majority of the factory dampener wasn't sticking the metal. 1/8" CCF used to decouple the barrier. doubled up in the foor wells. mlv installed. all seems sealed with vinyl cement. moving on the rear doors. oem vibration solutions are kind of interesting to me. the big styrofoam block in the door seems to add some rigidity to the door skin. I almost left it in... cdl tiles and butyl rope installed. forget to take pictures of mlv and ccf install after this, I put the car back together and continued on with the other major project that I need to complete which was the kick panels and door trim I wasn't happy with the fit of the kick panels I made previously so I taped of the foot well and used bondo glass to fill in the gaps between the interior and the pods. similarly the doors final results fit much better. I didn't have time to finish the upholstery before leaving.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
