haha there isn't a better amp for the price. The cheapest amps that beat the kole in terms of power are the audiopipe 3000 (2 1500's together) or the crunch ground pounder 3000 pro. You're looking at $300-500 for those. Here's a link to one of a million threads talkng about how good these amps are. At 15 volts and 2 ohms, two koles put out 4830 watts rms 3 seconds into the burp. If you do the math, that means one kole would of put out 2415 THAT IS LUDICRISLY RETARDED POWER FOR AN AMP THAT COST LESS THAN $170 SHIPPED. Kole Audio Q1-3000d...WOW!!! im hoping he is up for giving the 3000d a shot... could be very interesting. and the loudest setup i've heard. not many systems around here.. i thought the 3000d would look cool if you replaced the top with some plexi, what do you think? It would be easy to replace the bottom with plexi, but not really the top.... just how it's designed. At 2 ohms, you'd be able to put it upside down without any heating problems. You can also rip the logo off the front, then it's just bare metal fins. alright i have it pictured upside down. i just want the logo off the front lol

i think i've narrowed things down to one of these three. asus $550 smaller screen then the gateway but longer battery life gateway nv7915u w/ i3 for 600 downside is poor battery but bigger screen acer aspire... cant find reviews on this model yet... must be too new since its running the i3 reviews of the older model with the intel dual core are pretty good

found a pair of pg rsdc 12s ill try to get him to snag these up soon and then pick out the amp (either or the koles or the audiopipe will put out enough juice @ 2ohms so ill see if he wants the longer warrenty (audiopipe), more power (3000d) or save 30 bucks (2400d).

That's a good seller. I got 3 of my koles from them. They were selling the koles for $169 shipped. You can get the audiopipe 1500, but for $5 more you can get a refurb kole from them (90 day warranty) IMO if you want more power and wiring flexibility, get the kole, if you like the 1 year warranty, get the audiopipe. what im unsure on guys is whether or not he will ever use the 2200rms.... so maybe a kole 2400d or the audiopipe? his stock alt is 105 amps, assuming big three and only one battery (which he just replaced) under the hood. about how much power can we expect to run? there is really no point to getting the 3000d, beside wiring options, since he will most likely never use the power

hmm I've never had that problem with my toshiba. Mine does have a weak battery though. Damn thing only lasted like a year, now all i get is like a 10 minutes under full charge. ouch... my mac is still strong after 1.5 years. i have an app that read off various readings and says its at 88% health

im much into brands but ill have to look into this more... im skeptical of clamp test (distortion etc..), running alot of power would be cool but the electrical would need some work... i would probably only run that amp at 4ohm, it would give him the chance to double up the subs to 4 12's and run at 1ohm later on, which would be pretty crazy.

thanks for the input guys. ill keep looking anyone else

need an amp and sub(s) for a friend's s-10. doing a blow thru but would like to use no larger then 12's... tried talking him into 15's but its a no go. 1 Previous products that you have used (i.e. amplifiers if its an amplifier question, etc) -looking for comparable output to my 12" AA arsenal on ~500 rms -previous set ups was a pair of rf p1 10s sealed behind the seats. however he's a tall guy and doesn't want anything behind his seat- hence blow thru. 1.5 other equipment installed -rockford p400.4 4 channel on the door and dash speakers. 2 Budgetary constraints -under 400 for sub and amp. wiring will be 4gauge knukonceptz w/ big three if needed (could run 0 gauge if you guys think we need to) 3 Vehicle which the equipment will be used in 90's s-10 regular cab (no back seat) -blowthru 4 Other products you have heard, but have not owned that you enjoyed & their install particulars. -see number 1. 5 Musical preferences -anything but would like decent output for rap 6 System goals -classic "loud on a budget setup", not looking to sound amazing, he doesnt have the ear for it anyways. -the sub or subs will be ported obviously 7 List any research you have previously done some products being considered so far -ssa dcon 12'" x2 ~$250 w/ a cadence txa-3002 (600rms) ~$120 -other subs could be fi ssd 10 or 12, ia 187 pair (wish he would do 15's... i wouldnt even ask you guys for help if he would let me do them... lol) maybe kicker l5/l7 off ebay... sundown SA-8 -other amps could be rf prime 500.1

i think id like to push them up to the i3 laptops. their at the top end of their budget but i think that translates into a stronger laptop. they also come with larger hdd's and faster ramm along with the i3. i found the acer for 550 after mail in rebate.. on compusa
