i wouldnt use them. get a set with a separate tweeter, id recommend pg rsd 6.5 components (last set of comps i've ever used) which are only about 90 bucks. leaves you with some money for deadening aswell. go to some shops and listen to them on the board or listen to friends' set ups and see what u like about their installs . figure out if u like soft or metal tweets.

no you wont get better results with smaller speakers and having more speakers will not help with output, google cancellation and destructive interference. good result can be had quite simply with a pair of component speakers on mdf or plastic baffle (maybe some deadening if your serious about it). i take you listen to mostly rap since you mention not missing the midbass in your music? budget?

midbass is like 70-200hz, i hope your sub isnt playing that high... as far as your idea, its terrible. look for some components, see if you can get a 6.5" woofer in the door location with a baffle.

it would really be a shame to let that sub go with out a new cone, i hope u can sell it someone willing to simply recone it.

ya if u can add a 3rd sub then move ahead with that. when i said 2ohm i ment 2 ohm dvc subs so u can wire to 1ohm at each amp.

you should have baught 2 ohm subs. the options you have are: 1-sell off one amp and just run your subs off the other. 2- sell the subs and pick up a sub or 2 that will get the most out of your amps 3- sell both amps and replace it with an amp that makes power at 1ohm 4- sell it all and start over

i saw a guy put some mid bass drivers on the floor of his car... i would have tried it but i already had the 8s in the doors.
