how do you know they will be damaged? i'm not a car guy so is this a usual problem?

crescendo pwx 6"
terrible idea, they will sound like shit. fix your current install. something is seriously screwed up if they're cutting off.

probably a lot of modification to the rear deck to make this work. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/50199-95-honda-accord-build-crossfire-xs-v2-18/page-21

ya its an example. i'll find a build log for you to go through. basically you fire directly into the cabin. i'm sure some of the spl guys can chime in and give some examples of why its a good idea.

balance/SQ, lossless line voltage?
plenty of units with more functionality than this pioneer but not on the market anymore. use pandora or spotify for music.

the subsonic on his amp can do up to 35hz. Is that good or bad? Lol it should be set just shy of you tuning frequency. so if you're tuned to 34, set it to ~30. of course the markings on the dial are never correct so you can set it correctly by ear or use a dmm. either of which i can explain to you.

I did once..... Almost tore off my trunk lid.. Not literally but you know... And the resonse was worse you might gain some output with a wall off. which would let you take it easier on the sub. Yeah walling off sounds like a cool project but it's my daily driver.. Plus my dad bought the car (still in high school) and i don't think he'd be to happy if one day he couldn't look out the back window or sit people in the back seats if you know what i'm saying lol no you wall off at the ski pass entrance. edit: rear seat and everything else would remain stock. if the rear seats have a solid back than you want to lay them down.

perhaps the power and ground to those components (computer) are poor? how are you monitoring that these drops are occurring?

if you dont hear distortion, dont hear the coil bouncing off the backplate, and dont smell the glue (which is holding the coil together) melting, you're fine. All of this ^ is all thumbs up except for the "smell" which occurs after long periods of typically low hz tones played in songs ya thats the glue melting away. coils might go slinky on you soon, save some cash for a recone.

At least I'm thinking muddy is the correct word. You may very well be correct with the midbass. With some ported enclosures the sound is either snappy on the kicks or they blend together with no distinction. So when the kicks blend together, this is what I think of as muddy. thats likely caused by poor frequency response. subs overpowering the midbass meaning they fail to reproduce the instrument (kick drum for example) correctly, which is perceived as sloppy.

balance/SQ, lossless line voltage?
it can do 2 way + sub. which i thought you were interested in trying out instead? if you really want to add another channel then add a minidps 2x4 unit down the line. you'll still retain the majority of controls in the front of the car this way.

Well the port if firing into the cab, in which on the side the port is, the back seats fold down (port side is firing into the cab through the folded down seat) therefore it's not hard to smell anything if it is getting stinky have your tried different orientations with the box? is this a walled off install? walled off meaning the sub and port are both firing through the ski pass while sealing off the trunk from the cabin of the car. if its not walled off like that i would try port firing towards the trunk. this is typically louder but not in every case. trying it out is the only way to tell.

if rock or metal sounds really muddy its probably a midbass issue not a sub bass issue.
