i have been looking into going into after market for my car alarm and i have looked at reviews and a lot of them point out the Viper 5901. I know with the viper alarms you have to have them installed by a professional installer in order to retain the warranty. I am just looking for an alarm that will notifiy me if my vehcile is getting broken into etc, shock sensors are a plus as well as other cool features but if there are better out there for the price then let me know. Thanks in advance, just looking to get something that i could run outside and catch the person in the act and or call the cops etc.

Guess I'll work out the voltage problems when everything gets in and installed. Anyone know a killer box designer etc ? I'll have to do a test fit of the batteries. Might be able to squeeze them beside the box that way they wont get n the way of the port of infront putting the port closer to the back.

Also maybe running 4 deka's as opposed to 2 d3100's ? Since they are cheaper and look about the same on the spec's ? Just would be where to put them would be what i would have to deal with ahaha.

I take it i would be better off getting a 320 amp alternator then to try to keep my voltage near 14.4 ? I could be wrong but i always heard and i guess followed amp x voltage = watts. So at a 40% resever on the alternator at 320 of course would put it at like 192 amps after 40% so like 2764 watts for the alternator alone. and with the extra amperage at resting voltage on the batteries hitting a 330 amp hr bank at say around 12.9 volts would be about 4,257 watts.. for a combined total of about 7k... after 12.9 voltage of course. *Edit* I just personally was going to go with the excessive amperage over the mechman due to higher idle output but if the 50 amps from the alt are the way to go then i might go with the mechman. I just figured since a lot of my daily driving and the countless stop lights here and there that the idle would be good for helping recharge the batteries.

Anything about 12 volt i figure should be fine, i can always tone it down and run straight Rms to the subs so that would put me at 4.5k, guess i will finally determine what i want to run once i get it all up and running lol. The saz 3000d's are pretty solid imo i was running 2k daily with stock alt and battery for well over 3 years lol, not that i would recommend it or anything and never had any problems with subs or the amp. I am not normally full tilt from point A to Point B but here and there i do like to turn it full tilt when letting friends demo and so forth. I personally don't mind putting them on a charger everynight as the place i am going to move to has a garage in which i will be able to do that i just figured with about 330Amp hours and 270 amp that i should be close keeping my voltage in the high 12-13.5 range.

I will be installing a 270amp Alternator and looking to put either 2 Xs D3100's or maybe something else i guess some like the Xp 3000's for daily ? I will be powering 2 Sundown Saz 3000d's at a final ohm load of 2ohm's (Each amp will see 1ohm load) didn't know if ohm load made a difference but none the less. Just looking what would work best and make me not have to worry about frying my amps or having the chance of heating these amps up big time from huge voltage drops etc. I might be looking at throwing up a diehard platinum 31m in the front if it will fit as well as doing the big 3. Also how many runs of 0gauge should i run from the front battery to the back ? Doing the calculations i am getting about 6.3k ish watts my system should support ? Am i way off or does that maybe apply to once the voltage hits the resting voltage of the batteries ?

Hehe that is the one, had to make sure it was indeed a zcon. I was almost certain it was but i could have been wrong as well so just thought i'd check.

As far as i have always heard the common rule for amperage draw is Voltage X Amperage = Watts. So for example you have 150A alternator and they have about a 40% reserve so thats about 60 amp's take that away from 150 and you get 90amps. So 90 x 14.4 (most common alternator output in volts) is about 1296 watts. The batteries Ah or amperage an hour falls into play as well but not until i think it hits resting voltage. I could be wrong but if you have a higher draw you'll also see less power to put to your system as well. Hope this helps and gives you a better understanding as well.

None the less thanks for the fast response's everyone!! Gonna get this baby locked down and then that way i will save some more cash to put towards other things like maybe more batteries etc.

There is not a pic of the dust cap, supposely it's the carbon fiber option on it as well. But there is deff no pic of it, otherwise i think it would be fairly obvious what it is indeed lol.

I found a 15inch zcon sort of locally for a good price but I dont have enough experience to tell if for sure it is. I will post the pictures of the sub, just dont want to get burnt as its a good deal and kind of seems as if someone could pass it off as another sub. From me comparing pics, the surrounds are the only thing that stuck out to me in the pics between all the ssa lines. I am on my phone now but will post pics when I get home. There is no pic of the dustcap and thats what has me wondering about it.

Anyone want to chime in on what batteries I should go with ? Xp 3000 over d3100 ? Not quite sure how much space ill have behind my box I figure atleast 3 batteries will be able to fit beh ok nd it. Thanks in advance. And I aslo saw a zcon for purchase sort of. Locally, how can you tell fom pics if it is a zcon ? Looking at pics from this site the only difference I can tell is the surrounds.

i have experiance with the nightshade V1 .. the nightshade V2s with ZV3 spiders (soft) and the Zcons. i have a VERY small box, 5.8 cubes or so for a pair of 15s!,. the Zcons as most subs do.. like a larger box... normaly 4.5 cubes EACH 15... so my case is a little diffrent. the Zcons are TOUGH subs.. they are a monster SPL sub.. they are a little peaky.... for my taste. but in SPL its perfect.... i can not belive how much abuse these subs took.. i ran them at .35 on a NS1 @ 11.8 volts or so.. i ran them hard as shit.. trying to find the edge. i never found it. awsome sub. if you have the space.. and they LOVE forth orders. the nightshade V2s with ZV3 soft parts are great for me.. with a super low Fs, and the soft spider packs they get low.. great for me as i peak arounf 33 hrtz and my vehical responce is around 30 hrtz. and they do well in small boxs. but they do not take abuse and cipping aswell as the Zcons. any one can tell you i love sundown.. i have been on team for 6 years now.. and i love there subs and amps. but.. if i had a SUV or a truck that may be a diffrent story.... steve mead did well with his Zcons.. and he beat the shit out of them.. and had minimal fauilure. infact he had no problems for close to a year. and he had 4 Zcons on 20K... do the math.. thats nuts. and kurt is a wizard with the fourth orders he does HUGE numers with his Zcons.. its just like anyting else... if you know what your doing you can make any sub loud... but having a good sub to start with never hurts!. im all jacked up on cold meds let me know if somthing i said did not make sence or if i missed somthing Yeah, I caught all of that lol. If i were to get a 4th order box "Designed by someone of course" It'd have to be a single sub setup more or less correct ? I don't know much about 4th order boxes as far as designing them but i am pretty sure they tend to be bigger than ported boxes. And with having to stuff 2 d3100's or maybe even one if i can't get a hold of another saz 3k, which if a single sub is all i could fit with a 4th order box i would only need one saz pushing it anyways. Depending on the size of subs i chose as well plays into it as well though.

Should my electrical be sufficient ? And who's alts are normally the cheapest but still quality. I think I might end up going with the Sundown Audio ZV3 15's unless I can get a steal on some ssa zcons. I will probably do some more research and put in my order for subs on monday lol.

As far as the box goes I am thinking I might call up a buddy I used to work with and see if he can build it for me, as I have built boxes before that did what I needed them to do. His extensive experience in wood working as well as the tools he has he can probably do a much better job than I can lol. Just need to get a box design and such foe it once I figure out what indeed I am going to run and so forth.

Probably gonna go with a 280amp from excessive amperage, if not something else in that range and do 2 d3100's as well as a agm up front. Kind of depends if I run two saz 3000ds or not lol.

Also a question for bigjon I figured since you have had experience with both the Sa Zv3 with nightshade soft parts (i do believe correct me if i am wrong lol) .as well as the Zcon 15's , do you think the difference in price is worth it to go with the Zcon's ? I know if you end up wanting to sell the 15's to me shipping is gonna be crazy :S. Also you could probably get more money for them locally lol. But just let me know what your opinion is and this is of course if i were to go Brand new Zv3 vs Zcon. I love the lows as well as anyone does and i listen to a lil bit of everything but i also would like to get into competing at some point. But thanks in advance man,

That's what I was just about to ask lol.

I am not stuck on sundown subs lol, I am open to all suggestions. Just like how they look and perform as well so that's a plus. Nothing is set in stone as depending on if I am able to get another saz 3000d. Which could open up other options of subs as well. I don't mind blocking my back window lol, and as much as I would like to go seats down to open up more room I can't. I just know that the sundowns tend to perform rather well in smaller enclosures so I guess that kind of played into my path to them lol.
