Ported Ecnlosures & You
More surface area implies more port area ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> implies in the conventional term, but thats not accounting port wall surface.

For the time being the Optimas are not here yet. grrr... But for $160 each, I cant complain too loudly. As it stands right now (ready to go) I've the stock '02 Delco batt and a freshly charged interstate Marine / RV battery. The stock 150 amp alt and so on. I have yet to apply any deadening - other then the front doors... that'll be tested out in the coming weeks as I get to burping. She's ready to go, baseline anyhow.- Welcome to the IHoP

Truck's almost done. Need to call a guy about some batteries... thats it. Gonna try to get some TL time in tomorrow on what I've got though.- Welcome to the IHoP
thats worth a If the wife'll allow. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know for a fact she won't. That's fine. I'll find someone with long hair and have them stick their head in the hatch. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hee hee hee- Woof
If You want loud and looooooooow.... You'll wanna go large. very large. You could get 16ft^3 with a wall? How about a half wall - window line? So that You could still make use of the rear windsheild... Really, if You can, the larger the box with the lower tuning will have MUCH greater output down low. I'm guessing it'll be even moreso since this woofer is a low ended motor. 12ft^3, 120-180 in of port, tuned ~25.- i love the map dust

LoL - came in today. Umm... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh, at least I didn't have to do half of it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> eh, mine was not much better.- Woof
I was planning on 12ft^3 tuned @20hz with 100in^2 of port for HT. a couple of plot programs gave that a very nice peak - again, for HT. In car? In that car? If you want to shake everything to chit - I'm going to say 5.5ft tuned 25hz with ~12-15in^2 of port PER cube (66-82.5). Otherwise, something like 3-3.5 tuned ~28-30 with ~40in^port. I have yet to fire up the one in my truck now, when I do, I let You know how musical it is. 5.0 tuned 34hz with 36in^port. -Nick- Welcome to the IHoP
