  1. IDQ12D2 v2 check that out, maybe matched with this USAMPS
  2. yep those, but check here Ebay I just installed a set in my girls car, sound very good for the money.
  3. you got it check on ebay for Infinity Kappas, you can find a great price on them and I believe they are much better than the PG's. the tweeters are a little sharp for my tastes but you might like them. Proper amplification and they would sound fine with your SPL 12's.
  4. recommend for what?
  5. the difference between the active and passive is where the drivers are crossed over in the signal path: passive crossovers are located between the amplifier and the speaker, active crossovers divide frequencies before the amplifier. Active setups consist of a good head unit, amplification for each channel (tweeters, midrange/midbass, subwoofer) processor, and individually purchased speakers like the mli-65's. passive setups are component sets, which I think you would be happy with.
  6. ok, so its basically either/or. You would need to run active if you used the mli-65's.
  7. nm I didn't catch the last line. so let me try to understand this: 4 mli-65's 4 tweeters plus a 2 way component set, all run passive, off a 4900ib? I don't think I'm getting this right, please explain in more detail.
  8. I'm curious as to where you are going to find the passive crossovers for those drivers.
  9. I think you meant that you want to run passive. Active systems consist of individually bought drivers, not component sets, and have no crossovers included. Your speakers in an active setup would be crossed over with your head unit, amplifiers, and/or processor.
  10. He's saying use 4 guage for power and ground to the amplifier, 12 guage wire from amplifier to speakers.
  11. I've used a stinger dd block in the past and it would turn off about 3-5 minutes after the car was off.
  12. For your subwoofers, you will also need to add 1 channel to what Jim recommended to run active. So 5 channels for 2-way, and 7 for 3-way.
  13. Picked up an ARC 2100XXK never used for 125$ I appreciate the suggestion Jim, thankyou. I probably won't use it on the ultimo due to the 55Hz x 10 crossover which is very convenient, i think it would be a waste to use it just for the low pass.
  14. US Amps Merlin MD1D- $259.00 Rated 400w rms at 4ohms, should be more than enough Also, there is a thread about the seller in the general car audio section.

  16. well as i told you, I am a very detailed planner, I have to be completely sure through months and days of research before I purchase anything to put in my car. I don't want to be dissapointed, I'm sure you know what I mean haha. I plan on running hybrid L8/4/1pro combo, don't have them yet, but will soon. now that i think about it the 300.4 bridged would be great on the L8, i heard they like 300w a piece
  17. Mach5 SPL 12"
  18. I am actually planning on using a very similar amplifier setup with 2 ks 300.2 and the mini for my frontstage haha. i will definately look into the ks500.1 a little more, maybe the 1000.1 but im not sure I want that much power yet. I had also checked on the ZED forum, thanks to Jim, and found that they have a pretty low stock right now, due to concentrating on other things. buuut, i am a very detailed planner, and it will probably take me a month or two to decide anything, let alone purchase it. Definately agree Denim, sundown would be an excellent price break compared to the ARC, that will also be considered. decisions decisions.
  19. Since Fi and Sundown are available to you, you could go with the sae1000d and a Fi ssd and save some money. You could also look into RE subwoofers. I don't have any experience with them personally, but I know they have international dealers. Soundsplinter offers international shipping, and if you were to go with an RLp 12" at 295 dollars, you would most likely still save money having it shipped to you, but then again i have no clue how much shipping to the UK costs.
  20. I think that i am going to be going with ARC. can anyone give me a comparison between the FD and the KS series? i need to make a decision between the ks300.2, ks500.1, or the fd1200.1. I like the simple, clean look of the ks series. ragnaroksq, how did the 500.1 perform?
  21. Yes I know it is I thought about Zapco, and Helix, and ruled them out by price. but now as im thinking about it, I have a high quality loudspeaker, and i don't think it would do the Ultimo justice unless i matched it with a high quality amplifier. so i think i can spend a little more on the amp now. im not too familiar with zed products, where would i be able to find information on them?
  22. Im looking for suggestions on powering a single Morel Ultimo 10" 4 ohm subwoofer, preferably 2 channel that will give me sufficient power at 4 ohms bridged. that seems to me like the most cost efficient and effective way to go. My budget would be in the 300 to 600 dollar range. so far i have been looking at the ARC ks 300.2 Any suggestions will be helpful.
  23. I've used them before as well and they seemed ok to me. i agree about DHL though, they once called me and tried convincing me my house didn't exist...HAHA!
  24. Does anyone know where i could find a dex/deq for sale?
