  1. alright thanks for all the help and yeah ive been reading that site there, its just all die-hard and im not following some of the stuff, thats why i ask here, itd help better if it used car audio chit for its examples lol. im not much of a reading learning person i need diagrams, pictures chit like that. but like i said i probably wont get sony stuff for my set up im an alpine person. and you say dont mix sub types what if the subs are connected to different amps? they wont be mixed would they? like 1 amp runs the 12" and one amp runs with the 10"?
  2. Xplod subs 10" XS-L104P5B 12" XS-L124P5B (two of each) and like i said i didn't have an amp picked out yet, also no decisions are finally as im still trying to understand everything. This is more or less a paper project to help me understand how it all works out. ignore price and everything atm, its only a paper project to help me understand how it all works, ill then later on choose my set up i want. can i get a quick explanation of these btw lol. 2/1 channel amp, 4/3 channel amp?? whats that mean exactly? 2 channel at 1 somthing and 4 channel at 3 something?
  3. ok it only says 4 ohm voice coil, so im assuming there SVC, i havnt chosen an amp yet and yes im panning on using 4 subs, not neccasrily the 2 1200watt and the 2 1300watt but i need 4 subs. basicly just trying to figure out the subs then find a matchable amp, but for my set up i kinda want to do it with 2 amps if possible. but in order to choose the amp i need to figure out which subs i want and i also need to figure out how the whole ohm matching thing works. cause i know im supposed to match the subs ohm with amp ohm, but does that mean if my sub is 4 ohms does my amp have to be 4 ohms? and if my amp is 4 ohms does that mean ill need to have 2 amps per sub or can it split into two subs that are 4 ohm....like cna 1 4 ohm amp, power 2, 4 ohm subs?
  4. why you gotta make me look like more of an idiot lol. whats SVC and DVC stand for? lol sry i really know next to nothing with this stuff but really need to learn.
  5. im still learning a bit here with the audio but im curious as to how to match the ohms so im gonna use an example then ask the question. lets say i have these subs.... Two 10" 1200watt subs at 4 ohms and Two 12" 1300watt subs at 4 ohms Now does that mean i need 1 amp with 4 ohms with a splitter that goes into the subs? or would i need 2 amps both with 4 ohms each? or is there something else i can do?? and the amps need to put out enough watts to match the subs right? thanks in advance for any help.

    lol, thanks man
  8. Alright, i think I'm starting to follow, reading that website at the moment too. So what do you mean by adjusting my gains? does that mean setting the 1000 watt amp so that it only puts out 500watts? and by dual subs you mean 2 subs that are both 500watts?
  9. yes the amount of watts the amp puts out and the amount the sub can take have nothing to do with compability its the ohms..once you find a sub and amp that will run fine together then you have to set the settings accordingly so you dont blow your subs..because if a sub is 500 watts rms and the amp puts out 1000 watts there a good chance you will blow it.. ok so as long as the 500watt sub is lets say 4 ohms and the amp is 4 ohms then i will be fine and it wont blow the sub? (man i feel so newbish lol)
  10. So can i run a 500watt sub with a 1000watt amp?
  11. so the 4 ohms with the 175w just means that theres less power? and the 250w at 2 ohms means theres more power? is it even nessacery to measure your system by ohms, or should you just go by the watts? or is there subs/amps or whatever that come like 100w @ 2 ohms and then a different one that can be 100w @ 4 ohms?
  12. Chyea! so i wanna look into a nice audio set up for my car but im not 100% sure on what exactly to look for or how it all works really. So im looking to see if anyone can explain or direct me to a website or something that can explain how car audio works. preferably starting from the basics. Something for example would be this: T2-250.1: Continuous Power @ 14.4 V: 175W x 1 @ 4 ohms 250W x 1 @ 2 ohms what does it mean when it says 175w x 1 @ 4 ohms? (Are ohms not resistance and why is there more on something with less watts?) thanks for any help.
  13. i was in vietnam, scary place.
