Jon, I also would highly recommend a bandpass enclosure, maybe a 4th order?? I have one built with aero ports firing into the cabin, sealed off from the trunk...a lot of output. I say hit up 80inches here and have him design you a box. The man is good at what he does.

No pics we were really just there for the sound off. Although we did walk around once. It was pretty small but they did have a nice drifting event. Always good to see something new.

The subs are 4ohm. As for the impedance, that's just the way the cookie crumbles when using home audio subs in a car. Lol! Since it was a 3x event I wonder if I'll get an invite to world finals. x9999 I buy a lot of tools from there. Selection and prices are unbeatable. I guess... I have no experience with IB setups or subs whatsoever... So are you going to stay with the setup? It sounded very precise to me when I heard it.

Jacob and I decided we would hit up the Car show in SA this morning and all I can say it was worth it. Totally unplanned but everything fell into place. Started off heading straight to the Usaci booth. Did a couple runs in Jakes tahoe (2 12" Fi bls on a Sundown 3k) and got a 146.8db with the mic on the kickpanel. We got hungry and needed to take a piss so being the top executives and business men that we are, we went and ate at the spear tower. That's right. Pics as proof. The tower: The view from the VIP section: Here I am waiting for the attendants and waitresses and bus bois to get our table ready. Jake looking at the Street Havoc event from up top...laughing at all the peons getting burnt. HA!! The bill was nothing we couldn't handle. Jake took second place in his class (stock 601-1800) and got a godamm trophy! We met up with Hugo there too and being the slick intimidator and negotiator he is, he took 1st place in his class (1801+) with a 133.7db I believe. Thats right ladies and gentle men, 1st place. And he bought me some beer!!!! Thanks again buddy. After asking for an spl ring and getting declined in front of everyone, here's Jake flossing and gripping the fukk out his new trophy. All in all, a very good time was had, even with the sun baking our asses. Let's see if we'll be at the Waco show next weekend. Edward

Hugo, to me it sounds really clean, and they get plenty low from when I heard it at the HW. I am surprised though about the impedance numbers you recorded. They are waaay too high. Have you tried checking the impedance on the voice coils with a dmm to make sure they are 4 ohms or near it? If they are, then my best guess would be the environment the subs are in. Hope you get this issue resolved. Upgrading from 15" subs to 18" subs and doubling the power should NOT result in a 2-3db drop in output.

looks good! good to hear that the bass is punchier, thats always a plus. My 4th order isnt as punchy and detailed as my previous ported enclosures were. I think you made the right choice.

Yes Jake that is a good score especially considering you barely have any sound dampening. Since your subs are upfiring, I'd bet you'd see a nice gain if you do your roof and a bit more on the hatch. Either way it sounds good.
