Amps do not kill subs. people kill subs. I run 'bout 350 rms ea.(gen 1 ) daily to mine. If you are carful to avoid clipping, I think that 500 rms would work. But, like i said, be careful.

I will eat a little crow on this. I replied to it off the "recent posts" at the top of the of the home page, without paying attention to the sub-form(second skin). So it is my bad. Plus, it is possible to mount an amp or two on the underside of your trunk lid. But, only if is a recommended mounting position for the particular amp. Those ARC's would work really well under your seats.

You can always find great deals on your local craigslist. But, does he really understand that $100.00 is not going to buy he loads of "real" RMS? If not, you should make very sure that he does.
