Woofer clearance in a sealed box
Is it a new Q or an old one? It it is new, and does NOT have a pole vent(a hole on the very back of the sub) you don't need any clearance. If it is old, it will have a hole in the bottom of the woofer, the minimum clearance between that and the back of the enclosure needs to be half the hole width.

Depending on the woofer, more or less port area is required to be effective.

15" xcon in a temporary infinite baffle setup.
It is humanly IMPOSSIBLE to HEAR ANYTHING below 20Hz................. Euhm, no it's not. ( i hope ur'e comment was sarcasm ) If you think you can, your lying. If your "hearing" anything it is mechanical noise of the driver. You cannot hear a sound wave below 20 Hz. You CAN however feel it, tactile sensations are a big part of low frequency reproduction.

15 BL port questions
Port length needs to be 14.72" long to achieve 32 Hz. tuning, but you do need a lot more port area.

18" SSD Box Problem
The calculator itself works if the port does not have any bends in it, if it does the calculator is off on tuning frequency. I just wanted to make sure you weren't trying to fit an 18" in a car, with an SUV you'll be in good shape.

What do you mean by "too much sub"? To be effective, whether being loud or trying to move tons of air, it's not about cramming as many woofers in a vehicle as you can. There is a thing as too much woofer.

So you think you can build a home subwoofer
