Reliability has been excellent with my Maxxsonics amps so thats not an issue and I think they sound pretty damn good, but if say a JL or a ARC amp will make my system sound so much better i may need to rethink my set up. So how much better would my system sound if I were to run different amps? I mean it will sound better if I spend a bunch more right? Opinions? Most amplifiers cannot run a full active setup, they don't have the crossover capabilities. The Sundown SAX-100.4D can run a 2-way active front stage for example though.

Yes it changes a lot of things, you are removing passive crossovers from the speakers. Sending your amplifier and/or processor a full signal and running each speaker on it's own channel.

The class won't make a difference, what do your grounds look like?

Yup, it does look like the magnet separated from the top plate, the top plate is bolted and glued to the magnet but there are no bolts that go through the magnet.
