with christmas coming up and me "getting" some polk audio speakers for my tahoe as a gift, what should i get myself?(lol) i am torn between the pioneer and the jvc(i'd probably be getting them off of sonicelectronix) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_19739_Pioneer+AVIC-X910BT.html $699 + already has bluetooth - would need to get the steering wheel controls($70) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12317_JVC+KW-NX7000.html $709 + large sexy screen + remote control + garmin nav - bluetooth would be an additional $70 the boot-up times dont seem to be an issue, since from reading they both start audio upon ignition, it would just be the nav that takes a while i want either steering wheel controls or a remote so yeah.. im not sure i would use the bluetooth alot, so they are basically about the same total, price wise. i've looked up the iPod interface on both HUs and dont get much. the pioneer seems to have a better UI along with the ease of searching by letter( like a,b ,c etc) and was unable to find much on the jvc so which would you get? yeah, lol o, and the place on where im gettin the pa speakers, doesnt have any hu at all, lol(its some guy who left sound advice and started his own lil shop with subs, speakers, amps and the small HUs, sound advice closed down, lmfao!)

Undecided on which HU to get, i want touchscreen, iPod compatible(will get the steering wheel control as well), and while im at it with gps, bluetooth is not necessary. I was looking at these two an Eclipse and a Pioneer. The Eclipse has a much bigger screen and what not, but the faceplate is the one where it moves(i've heard these tend to break/become disfunctional really quick or is taht only for the slide out ones?). While the Pioneer has a slot for discs and does not need to slide/move at all. The Pioneer also looks more "cleaner/smoother". Im not sure lol, my birthday is coming up and i know i will get some money and will need to just put liek 3-400 to get a nice HU.(should be getting about 4-500 in cash total). If you know of a much better one or if you or your friends have had trouble with either, let me know. I would greatly appreciate it. not yet, and thx lol. jsut got back from work(OT ftw). at work during lunch break, i drove off and messed around with the wiring going directly into the stereo(well, what my big burly hands could reach). basically, i slightly moved some of the cables with my finger and tried looking for a screwdriver which failed cause stuff is at parents house. i managed to "get it back up again"(yeah a penis joke, laugh). so from what it seems like, its not the amps, or it may be. will look into it 2morrow, got homework to do now(calc ftl) thx again though, lol

basically, i've had a major drop in bass in my car. i have 2 fi BLs and 2 kicker 1000w amps. initially, i had trouble with my iPod cable(dock to aux cord , the 7$ one from ebay) so i bought a new one. well now all of a sudden, my cds have also lost the quality. the stock speakers in the door hit harder as of right now. when i turn the knob all the way and put the volume up, i finally get what i should be getting at about 1/4 turned. i looked at the amps thinking 1 of them was dead and they both were fine. i dont really know much about wiring but will probably read up on it 2morrow since i will have some free time to look at it, but this is what basically happens http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/share.do?inv...State=RETRIEVED let me know if you cant see it

i was told i need to get an amp for this, is this correct and about how much money should it cost?(i dont want to be ripped-off really) also, would bass damage any head unit?(like the disc reader and whatnot?)

yeah, im looking for a good head unit. got a question to you bassheads out there: with all that bass, will it mess up the cd/dvd reader at all? i was thinking bout something like the pioneer package with the dvd,navigation double din touchscreen with the ipod cable as well. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_13353_...AVIC-F90BT.html i currently have the stock stereo with a cable from my ipod to the aux input in the stereo and it seems that the data part on the ipod has been damaged slightly(its loose and i have to actaully move the cable around, and no the cable is not damaged) [my friend says its cause of the bass, but i dont have alot only 2 FI 15" BLs] so then i was thinking about getting a zune and getting that microsoft sync, but not sure if they sell for my car but im sure i can get one. does ne1 have the zune and the sync thingy? how clear is the sound quality?(its wireless right? meaning any other stereo with bluetooth would work aswell, but how good is the sound? its not like those fm transmitters right?) finally, i thought about getting 1 with a harddrive and just transferring music and video, ne1 know of any having about 50gb or more?

If you listen to rap, things are a lot less critical. If you listen to music that actually has a definite soundstage and potential for a real stereo image, then I'd skip the coaxials and go with individual midbasses/tweets bi-amped. so coax would be alright then? i sometimes listen to spanish stuff(rancheras n stuff), and sometimes to techno, so what that still be sound?

i guess i will also "hijack" this thread currently im driving a 07 tahoe, have stock speakers, stock hu, eletrical not upgraded yet i have 2 15" BLs off of 2 1000.1 kicker amps. i was wondering if i should just get comps. or get 2 sets of coax? and i've been to circuit city,best buy, and sound advice and i really liked polk audio(of course they only had a few to even choose from). what would you guys reccommend? i ahve a friend taht told me just saturday to leave him the door panels and some speakers and he would mod them to have 2 speakers per door. and if i were to go that route, i would think 2 comps would be the way to go(but pricey)? christmas is coming up so ya know i gotta add some of these to my list taht way i have more $ to spend thx in advance

07 tahoe, i might decide to try to do the big 3 upgrade this weekend if i get time(school n work ftl ) so wat about the red top vs yellow top?

ok here is the scenario: im running 2 BLs off of 2 1000.1 kickers and am gettin some dimmage(only when i turn it up), everything is stock question(s): whats the difference between a red top and yellow top(which is better reccommended if at all)? or do i need to get an xtra battery and/or cap? should i go ahead and attempt the "big 3 upgrade" to see if it helps any? thx in advance, and sorry, im noob when it comes to this stuff

actaully, this is a good idea. your customer just need to know what they want and give u dimensions. it took me like 4 days to figure out what would work properly for my subs(had to do some more research and take into account the space i had with how i wanted it to look). and then i did a little quick plan and then i began to cut lol. good luck
