Subs are making a squeaking noise, like something is rubbing, and have poor output at 3/4 volume.

Ok I've been trying to get my subs reconed for about three weeks now, I already know that they wont be covered under warranty because I overpowered them, but i have the money to get them fixed so if someone that works for fi could send me some info to get me on the right track, i would greatly appreciate it. Subs are:( 2) FI Q 15's D1 w/ BP power. THanks

12-16 sq.in. of port area per cubic ft. of volume... so around 24-32 sq. in. on your port area and make sure you keep the port length to width under 9:1 so your first measurement on your port would be 16 height if you run the port the height of the box subtracting 1 inch for your bottom plate and 1 inch for your top plate.....and your port width should be 1.5 to 2 inches wide, if calculated by the 16 inch tall port, (port area=port height x port width) depending on how much area you decide to go with, and the length will depend on your tuning frequency...hope this helps.

what are your max dimensions?

At first I thought it was the box but I checked it and made sure there were no leaks and everything was ok. I even built another box just to make sure that I wasnt missing something and had the same problem with the new box. I keep emailing fi about recones and just cant get any responses.....Oh well i have the money to pay for the recones, no biggie..

Have you already subtracted driver displacement?

Im in AL, I currently dont have any pics as I dont have a camera yet but I'll be getting one pretty soon so I will take some pics and vids of my setup then. U know anyone looking to sell a used 3000D? Its my dream amp. THe speakers still play but not to the best of their ability. Think they will cover them under warranty?

maybe im tuned too low? cause i got right around 6 cuft. after displacement. only had the woofers for about a solid month, wonder if fi will do some sort of trade out + cash for the bl's?

good vids.... seem like those bls hold their own down low.....how many cubes is that box? gotta love the fire extinguisher lol.... when I first hooked the q's up they pounded something awful but then after a few weeks they got a little weaker.

what kind of music do you listen to specifically bj? I have a 2007 grand marquis and our trunk space is pretty much the same..

Ok i have two fi q 15's and i am very impressed with their output, however, i want something that has more output potential than the q's. I like the super low bass my box is tuned to 27hz so keep that in mind when making suggestions as I dont want an spl woofer but a woofer that gets extremely low like the q. I love the Q's I just need more output. thanks

speaking from experience, I have the q 15's in 8 cuft. tuned to 27hz. All i listen to is rap and oh yeah there are some songs that dip below 30hz. I listen to rap alot and thats usually how I pick my cd's by listening to them and if the bass isnt low enough I dont play it. I can say this about the Q's, they really capitalize on the low bass extension, (ie. sub 30hz). I love their output. Couldnt have asked for a driver that fits my needs so closely. Sounds like you and I look for the same thing out of a system; that bass that gets so low you cant hear it, it just makes the whole car shake. I dont have any complaints about the q's, excellent subs which may also be the case with the bl's as I dont have any experience with them. This is an interesting topic for me because I was just wandering the same thing about the bl's. I've played them for a while and am looking to get something that yields a little more output. (BL's maybe?)

furthermore, fi is a good company and Im not trying to get over on them thats why I stated the fact that I did play them hard but its no problem if they dont want to warranty my subs. I wont feel bad because I know I told them the truth about the matter.....Lies get you nowhere.

yeah you did IMO. you should have went with BL's or BTLs but from the sounds of it your gonna blow them no matter what. you send a dirty signel to any sub long enough your gonna blow it... lemme guess... +6 bass on your head unit bass boost on the amp all the way up..... gain all the way up...... come on. Ok my amplifiers gain is set properly, there is no bass boost on the amplifier, and my head unit's eq curve is graphed the way i like it and for your info, no I dont even use the bass boost on the headunit.... Just because my profile says noob doesnt mean a thing. I know a lot more about this stuff than most average people do. My amp is a MMATS DHCX2200.1 2300rms @1 @13.8 VOLTS. sorry I didnt take any pics or videos it really was just a couple of guys there not a real big thing........ i play my BLs hard when ever i ride.. and when i show off.. i dont shange anything... i just turn it up... its been almost a year no problems. people that own audio shops in my area say i have the loudest car thay have ever heard..... and the third loudest behind suv's of course. recone them... and lets talk about your settings.... if you dont like the way your setting sound with the Q's perhaps diffrent subs are in order. and i donno what amp your running. butmaybe a new amp.. and some self control. o yeah.. just a heads up... NEVER admit abuse then turn around and ask about your warrenty!. either way..... lets get you strighted up.... got any pics of vids of that show you went to. or your car and set up?
