low watt amp
I'll tell you what i have a exile audio 600.1 amp that just pounds, I purchased it to run 4 10's but that project never paned out so I hooked it up to my solobaric L7's to see what it can do and WOW!! I was amazed at the power it put out. It is rated at 600x1 at 1ohm but i think that is a very underrated. It slams the L7's as hard as my old Kicker Kx800.2 did and that put out around 500 watts to each sub at 2 ohms. If your lookin for a good amp at that power range look into the Exile 600x1.

Best componet set for the $$$$$
I need a componet set to finish off my highs and mids for the front. Just want some ideas on which set gives you the biggest bang for the buck? I need either a 6.5 or a 6 3/4 to put in my front doors either will fit. Looking for something that will blow my mind with sound quality. Also does anyone know if a company makes a 3 way componet set I could have swore JL had a set that had a 6.5 a 6x9 and a tweeter with a 3 way crossover this was some time ago, maybe back in 2000. Anyways let me know what brands you all think are the best for the $$$$$ I am tryin to keep it around the $200 rang but will go a little higher if its worth it, thanks.

BTL questions
Calm down for a sec guy, You could build a box to the proper specs in the space you have, but like everyone is teling you they need alot of power. From what I've been hearing around 3000 watts true rms, also your going to need to run 0AWG back to what ever amps you buy to supply the current you need, that alone will run you around $150.00. You could buy 2 Ma Audio HC4000-D's for around $500 a piece on ebay but you would have to spend about the same amount or more upgrading the power system to get them to produce the wattage you are lookin for. Thats the problem with running high current amps at low ohms they use alot of power and you end up spending the same if not more money upgrading the elec. system.

MDF or birch
What material do you think is better to build with MDF or birch. I seen alot of builds using birch, but I have never used it. Does it hold up as well as mdf or better? What are the advantages of useing birch over MDF? Just want some input before I start building, thanks.

I looked at the irragi but was wanting to know about the durability of these alts? Also do you have to kook up anything special if you running a H.O. alt so you dont fry the car's elec. system? Thanks again.

questions on box 2 18" Q series Fi's
I am tryin to work out a box plan for 2 18" Fi Q's, the box i am plannin will really be 2 seperate boxes. 1 for each 18 then bolted togather, then trim paneled in to look like 1 box. Doing 2 boxes to make it easier to pull the boxes in and out(I am a 1 man build crew) of the van(2000 Gmc safari). Here is what i came up with from RE's web site. Each box will be 25" wide by 34" inches deep by 21" tall wood thickness will be 3/4 inch mdf, port width will be 4.5 port height will be 19.5 and the lenght will be 28.75 to give me a box that is tuned at 28.18Hrz and gives me 6.766 ft of airpace. Do you guy think this box will be ok for everyday driving, I am looking for good spl while maitaning some musical clarity. Let me know if this box is ok or if I should build a slightly bigger box(I could make the box 25" tall) to get more box volume, also is 28.18 Hrz ok or should i tune the box higher or lower? Just lookin for some suggestions.

which battery should i install
Hey, I was just looking for some input on which car battery I should purchase for my 2000 GMC safari van. I plan on running 2 18" Fi Q series off of 2 apline pdx 1000.1's also a alpine for my highs and mids. I have already purchased a xsatic 400 series batcat for the rear and wanted some help on picking a battery for up front to replace the stock one. I am running 0awg power and ground wire from the front battery to the rear also am planning on doing the BIG3 but dont really know how to upgrade the alt. wire to 0awg, anyhow i dont plan on upgrading the alt right away maybe down the road so I need a battery that can be ran off the stock alt. I have looked at the optima, xspower (i think) and someone told me to just use a deep cycle marine battery but i am not real sure on that one. Just wanted to know what you guys are running and what you think will supply enough power and amps for my system, thanks

BOX BUILD for 2 18" Q's
Dont get me wrong, I want it to slap hard, I just dont want it to be sloppy. I dont plan on listing to a lot of phil collins mostly rap, but i just want the bass notes to be accurate. I paln on runnig 2 10" Q's along with the 18's to help reproduce some of the high kick drum type of bass in the rock and blues I sometimes listin to. I was just tryin to get a idea of how big the slot ports need to be to acheive the proper hrz tuning in a enclosure this large. I just dont have alot of knowledge on building slot ported enclosures.

BOX BUILD for 2 18" Q's
Well here it goes, I am planning on running 2 18" Q series Fi's in my daily driver(2000 GMC Safari). I need box design ideas for this aplication, I want it to be more aimed at sq then db. I am running a Alpine pdx 1000.1 to each 18 at 4ohms at 1000watts rms. The room I have available for the build in the back measures 50 inches wide by 34 inches deep by 21 inches tall. plan on useing 3/4 mdf for box. Pritty much need to know everything what hrz to tune it at, How many ports, what size ports, slot ported or round. Let me know what you think any ideas would be a great help. Also when are the Q's going to be available to order.
