1.8 ft^3 tuned to 33hz. This will be my first attempt at a kerffed port so we'll see how it goes : Not much to look at yet...

OK, I got a little more done. Rounded over the edge of the trim piece 1/8", just enough to take the edge off. and cut the hole for the speaker terminal.

This is a build for someone on another forum but I thought I'd post it here also. Boz is for an OZ Audio ME10 it is 1.25 ft^3 net tuned to 34hz using a 3" Aero. It will be double baffled. flush mount with an amp rack on top for an Autotek XS-900.4 Design, the amp rack was a late addition . Wood all cut Building...
  6. I get 25.19" The problem is you will still have to subtract the port displacement from your volume (2.3ft^3) which will also affect your tuning. So... 10.81ft^3 - 2.3ft^3 for port displacement = 8.51ft^3 net (after sub and port displacement) So with 8.51ft^3 and a 25.19" long port your tuning goes up to 38.24hz This means your port will have to be longer to get the tuning back down to 34hz, it also means you will loose more vol due to the longer port.
  7. That seems more complicated than it needs to be. Try a simple ported box, if designed and built properly you will be very happy with the outcome. Well...One thing about this box that I was interested in is that it takes the bass out of my trunk. If I go with a standard ported box, that means I'll need to put some sound deadener to help with rattles.... That box design will not keep your trunk from rattling, the bass may be directed into the cabin but that does not mean the rest of the trunk will not vibrate.
  8. Pre drill and countersink all screw holes. Invest in a router, spiral upcuting bit, flush trim, roundover bits and a circle cutting jig. Don't be cheap with the glue. Time and patience are the two biggest factors in building a good box, along with a good design of course.
