hey..wassup guys..one of my friends is like going to miami for a week on thursday coming..and she asked me to pick out a good HU since her moms cd changer in the car got stolen:(..i gave a couple of good brands and what to look for..but..are there any good audio shops in miami where she can get some top quality items..and a site would be helpful..since i want to get summin thatll suit her needs.thanks!!

honestly ..i think you should reconsider placing your port on the baffle....firing it off axis will yield a somewhat louder effect in that vehicle ....fire the sub up will be nice ...if you face the port rearwards ..you may get a little advantage of the horn effect ..which tends to yield a couple db's. however ..this is just an opinion ..not what you have to do.

naw not internal.......height=21 x width= x length= 50..the port can be placed anywhere 90 degrees on any of the sides ,parallel to the baffle and bottom.

okay..new thing..heres what i got for ya 50 x 21x22 .after calculating total internal vol..i got 11.08^3 ft including port displacement..all u gotta do is subtract woofer and bracing volume.the port will be height(hv)=8,width(wv)=9and length(lv)=10..this gives a fb of 31.83 hz.here are the cut list if u need..Square Prism Box Parts 1 Top, 1 Bottom: 22 © x 21 (b) in 0.75 (thick) in 1 Front: 48.5 (a) x 19.5 (d) x 1 (thick) in 1 Back: 48.5 (a) x 19.5 (d) x 0.75 (thick) in 2 Sides: 48.5 (a) x 22 © x 0.75 (thick) in Vent Parts 1 Top, 1 Bottom: 9 (e) x 10 (h) in 0.125 (thick) in 2 Sides: 8.25 (g) x 10 (h) x 0.125 (thick) in hope this helps..this was plotted using bassbox pro 6.

do you have a problem with those dimensions because i think 12 cu ft -woofer displacement + port disp. would be fine.

recently ..ive been on Fi's site and just fantasizin bout my soon to be woofers for christmas ...however ..i planned out my budget to buy the mtx t8001 which is going to give me a final load of 1 ohm..and therefore i needed 2 dual 1 ohm bls.......no prob up till there..however ...comparing the d1 and d2 specs i found the fs on the d2 to be slightly lower..sensitivity a tad higer and..the thing that slaps me on the head =a huge dif in the bl tm(19 tesla m in d2 as compared to 12 in the d1). i dont want to be adversely affected by this in any lack of performance that i could be missing out on..if anyone could give me a better understanding and recommendations on this..be greatly appreciated ..thanks

well ...you will miss out on some displacement due to the lack of the extended voice coil and maybe a little power handling.....if you are talking about one without cooling..magnetic flux will be much higher and more suited for a burp scenario..however...the btl u described that you have is fine for a daily beater..hope that helps.

well....stacked magnets generally increase the potential (coupled with other factors)for a greater xmech and increasing the amount of air displaced.i am not too sure about its effect on the power handling..but it does not reduce it.however when magnets are stacked a net effect is "seen" as one single magnet with the "strength" of the individual slugs ..but in reality ,strength is evenly spread and actually has an effect that reduces the bl force factor of the entire structure ..which was taken into consideration of the new btl.therefore...the new design

Oh no, I am sorry to hear that. It's cool how would an explorer fair in SS1-2? Not sure, seems more were is Street Class. My main competition in SS.1-2 is Team Rooney. sorry to hear bout your subs ..but umm...go easy on nick and scott..ive never even talked to either one but still feel sorry for the dudes...theve got one heck of a busy schedule ..i think it would be wise to have patience(wait a little.....longer)and you will have undivided attention from either one..it pays to wait.. a careful inspection of your problem is much better than a half @$$ reply to your "need".

oh...soo its basically a port designed for spl.....thanks..i think i will want to do this for my 2 bls since internal volume is barely hitting the recommendations ..but thanks much. a short port doesn't neccessarly mean it's an SPL set up....if the room allows most will go for more port area and in Steves case he probably wanted to stay below the seat line in order to stay out of the wall class and still have room for the four 18" BTL's,amps and his kids..... makes sense..thanks...i guess i too wanna keep my back seats .just me and my gf..but kidz might follow someday..who knows.
