  1. awesome. I've never used American Bass so I'm not sure what to expect from this
  2. thanks, I appreciate the compliments on this. props to mike for his excellent work
  3. Still working on it but here's the next set of pics taken so far today:
  4. will do. already got a few pics taken. it's coming together pretty nice so far. well I just don't want to say a random number and not reach that goal, I have goals but really id be happy with anything over 150 that sounds good. if its 160, happy will be an understatement lol. as far as amps go, it will be two addictive audio 500.1's strapped to 1 ohm. batteries are a little bit short right now with only 4 odyssey 2150s. eventually, I'll upgrade to 16v because these amps like 16v a LOT more than 12v
  5. Alright so many of you may know I've gone through several systems in the past few years that have ranged from third row boxes, third row walls, all the way to a b pillar wall. Every single one of these systems were only able to reach 150db and not more beyond that. I've decided to step it up a notch this time and stop doing 2 subwoofer setups in such a large vehicle. With that being said, here are some details. Woofers:(8) American Bass XFL 15's Box Design: 6th Order Bandpass Power: 12,000 watts, eventually 22,000 when upgraded to 16 volts Speakers: More information to come Box and design being built by Mike Singer Got rid of the old 2x4's and put a new birch wood floor in.
  6. my light Still need to clean up behind the seats.. been extremely busy lately to do it Maxxlink:
  7. LOL you're like the only person that realized that. The knee does great justice to hold the wheel though! Aw too bad you can't come man.. I'm getting all of my stuff finished this week! Just got the new stuff today.. Here's a quick video (untuned though)
  8. Ordered some Warden 18s and put them in about 2 days. Still breaking them in but I figured I might as well share with people. I haven't metered it yet. I'm waiting until my extra power arrives Thanks to Rio for getting me a great deal on these!
  9. oh I knew they were being massively overpowered.. I just didn't care lol. I hooked it up to .5 ohms which is about 7k on my amp and they are rated for 1k each.. go figure any vids of this episode? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he has 2 videos on Youtube, 2 12" RE Audio SE's on a Stetsom 7KD. Sorry if it's not the same person, but here's the videos. no, all of my videos are under the username Owners1 http://www.youtube.com/user/Owners1
  10. oh I knew they were being massively overpowered.. I just didn't care lol. I hooked it up to .5 ohms which is about 7k on my amp and they are rated for 1k each.. go figure
  11. yeah and the fact that DD claims to not have anyone by his name on record.. kind of makes me suspicious. ill see what DD says though
  12. Could very well be a bad recone job. One (expensive) option is to have DD rebuild that sub and try it again. If the install is ok and it holds up, it was definately a bad recone job. If it doesn't hold up...that's the expensive part And you can point fingers at the install. Did you send DD them some specs of the design ? I sent DD one of my speakers to fix it actually. Depending on what was wrong with it, I will decide the next course of action with my second one.. this kinda sucks. I blew my temporary subs too and now im out of bass lol
  13. I don't have much info on it because not much was given to me.
  14. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Own...easurements.png http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Owners1/design.png theres 2 more pics
  15. I am not sure of the tuning.. the box is 11.42 cubes though. The pics that I posted are of the damaged sub. I sent the severely blown one to DD already but the one I didn't send yet doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it but it sounds good for maybe 5 or 6 seconds then it makes a real strange noise and I have to wait about 10 seconds and it does it again
  16. that is a picture of the design. it's built to exact spec
  17. So I bought some used DD 9917s off **** and apparently they were just reconed. Well, I had a box built for one of them just to try it out and I started to play it in the car and it wasn't exactly very loud and literally after a minute or so, the sub completely locked up. It was wired to two ohms @ 3000 watts which is pretty much nothing for a 9917. So, after that, I hook up the other one. I notice the strong smell of a burning sub after about 20 seconds of playing it loud then about 2 hours later it starts making a sound like a spring vibrating or something. This one isn't blown YET but I sense it's damaged. When I push down on it, I can feel it rubbing. Any of you guys have experience with something like this happening before? Heres some pictures of it that I took.
  18. factory location..the factory speakers had these special clips but i cant use them with aftermarket speakers
  19. Okay so I am having a difficult time here screwing in my mids because the screws all just fall out and basically I need to screw them in to a very thin piece of metal.. is there like a retainer clip that I can screw into or something like that I can buy online or home depot?
  20. see, that is beyond what I even want to accomplish lol
  21. this guy at a car audio shop was telling me to do that lol.. I don't have nearly enough money for a setup like that
  22. It's going behind the c-pillar because there is no need to get rid of the entire truck when I am only doing 2 18s lol
  23. hahaha I really don't see how their would be any turning blind spots though..the only blind spot that is obvious to me is not having a rear view mirror
