  1. did this just start happening or did it do this since you bought it? using the alpine iPod fullspeed cord? does the apline symbol come up on the screen of your ipod? i know several ppl with the 9886 and nobody has had any problems...
  2. i knowwww, theres nothing i can freakin do right now. and i would use my computer camera, but it crashed last week. fml
  3. Just got them yesterday! freakin awesome subs man. my box sucks and they still sound great. unfortunately, my roommate accidentally took my camera back to chicago with him for the summer, so it will be a little bit before i can get some pictures up, but i just had to say thanks!!!!
  4. i mean, if you knew all the angles, curves, and thickness of the glass then i guess.... but it would be extremely difficult to even figure all that out. just fill it, then measure how much it took to fill it

not sure about the range, but the gain doesnt limit the amount of power the amp can produce, fyi
  6. well, how much do recones typically cost for subs? that should give you an idea of how much the company values those parts....
  7. order filled, pics will be up as soon as i get my stuff!!! super excited!
  8. sorry, rusty. i missed the email cause i didnt notice my mailbox was filtering my emails by subject title, not date recieved emailed back!
  9. yea, im sure it is. but its been like 5 days since i emailed him. grrr, i want a discount. lol
  10. hit me back Rusty, i wanna buy some subs from you!! you got an email ([email protected]) and a PM
  11. im not sure about focal, but i know with some companies it voids the warranty to mount the crossover in the door. (i think because of the water concern)....and right now im drawing a blank on which company that was. but it may be worth looking into. most mount them somewhere close to the amp
  12. i would happily mow the lawn every day in that thing
  13. looks pretty freakin sweet. how did you bend the MDF? and do all the subs have the same airspace?
  14. what exactly is a hybrid horn?
  15. why do people tape the edges of the sub, is that tape?
  16. basically im shooting for max output with the amp that i already have. i dont want to buy a new one and i know that in 5 years im not gonna be as into super loud systems, so i dont want to waste money on huge electrical upgrades. dims are 38 x 21 x 20 budget isnt a huge deal cause im looking for something that will handle 1200 rms total to match my amp basically, i want to get loud, but not lose all output in the mid 20 hz but maybe im looking way too deep into this cause ill probably be pretty satisfied with whichever i choose..... so i guess a simpler question would be, which would likely be louder to the ear, the 2 12's ideally ported or the 2 15's sealed?
  17. i know everything is install related, but i want to try to get a general consensus i asked this question on another forum as well subs are DC lvl 3 as far as output, im quite sure i would be happy with either setup. my buddy has 2 12" type r's sealed up and they are loud enough for me (but louder still is better) my goal then is to hit as low as possible with these subs (i listen to rap, so the lowest i would need to think about would be like in "put on": ~25hz) i typically set my crossover around 65-70hz, so anything above that im not worried about currently front is stock, but will be upgraded soon; looking at rainbow and hertz right now.... 12's ported, box hopefully either planned or built by PTS or FC (as far as i know they are both very good) -most volume as possible up to their max rec. of 4 cubes for the pair -either aeroports or kerf flared -original thought was 32 hz (lowest DC recommends) vs. 15's in a simple sealed setup, full 6 cubes for the pair now some guy on my other forum ran this through his comp and showed me this (12's are red, 15's orange) he also said that the 12's would unload under 30 hz without a ssf (which i have) so i want your input. thanks guys ps. in case anyone wants to try to see how low i could tune the 12's. dims are 38W x 20D x 21H
  18. how big are those aeroports you're using? 6"?
  19. hahhahaha, oooohhh k sorry. i guess that makes me the ass
  20. does that mean quit f@#$ing talking? cause im just giving my opinion, you dont have to be an ass if you disagree
  21. not sure if you're being sarcastic... i was referencing this quote
  22. invest in a stiffer suspension! haha you know you're addicted to car audio when you max out the weight capacity of your car with only audio equipment imo, i would just stick with the 15's you're going to sell 2 great quality, SPL oriented subs (that im assuming for the most part you like) to buy 4 subs you've never heard, never heard of, and have no one to vouch for their quality, and then hope they will be louder than your current setup....
  23. no difference, use lexan 3/4"+
  24. wow, i didnt realize that JL, Sundown, and Boston are the only companies with amps that produce clean power....
  25. bigjon how do you like those CDT components? ive always been curious about them
