Did the same when I was in college, saved a ton of money. Still living at home at 23 just graduated from bloomsburg in december... so maybe i'll move out soon haha Nothing wrong with that, I am paying each semister for him as long as his grades are up to par.

Well today my oldest turned 19 and he still lives at home, but is going to LHU so I can't complain.

Although output wise my first option will seriously destroy those and fidelity wise the second will also. Pretty unfair though as retail wise a set with the raw drivers as picked would go for 4-10x the budget depending on cabinet and execution. Just offering something a little different and I have personal experience with, but there are other options that would cost less.
