I'm tempted to drive to Florida and prove them all wrong. I don't think it would be worth it. I'm almost convinced Florida is filled with ignorant, dumb people. I have to deal with them at work and they can't even do their job right. I might use it an excuse to go to the Keys again, do a little diving, and eat some real Key Lime Pie...yummy! I will meet you in Key West. Heck yeah! Captain Tonys.

One year in wood shop I made this very nice walnut paddle complete with holes. Boy did my brother hate me for for that one. Needless to say we cut that bitch up because it hurt like you would not believe.

Eh, I've never thought you were an ass. Blunt maybe, but thats it. I'll take blunt over sugar coated bullshit anyday. J Here is my editoral of why people react the way they do. In todays culture people are coddled from the truth. lets face it most of the time the truth sucks! I see this very often when I have to work with interns. These kids come from school thinking they know everything only to find out what humility really is. The sad part is they don't know how to suck it up and learn a lesson, but rather become bitter and angry. The reason I am given these interns is I am good at teaching and communicating tring to help them get the knowledge they are in need of. How many times are you going to close your hand in the door before you say hey dumb ass there is a better way to close this door? So I don't believe it is a matter of being blunt, but rather the culture that has been created by coddling the young. I couldn't agree more. Now I am not 'shitting' on anyone's parenting, or how their children are turning out by saying the following, but reflecting on society as a whole. We reward mediocrity. We don't just say 'Hey you got first!!' or 'Hey you got third. Good job kid', instead we give awards for partisipation. Or for the hardest attempt, or just for getting out there and trying. Yes positive reinforcement is a good thing, but only to a point. Kids are having a hard time accepting that their shit, does infact stink. They cannot understand why writing a half assed paper is worth as much as busting their ass, and writing in depth to properly cover the topic. We instead coddle their precious ego's and make sure they cannot become depressed. Additionally now if a kid says 'I'm going to beat the shit out of you' to another child he is a criminal and needs to be arrested, his parents are shit bags, and he needs to go into a foster home and learn to be sensitive to other people's feelings. Its a crock of shit. The world chews you up, spits you out and lets YOU figure out how to recover. It doesn't hold your fucking hand and promise you that your going to find better days. Personally I blame 2 major parts of society for this coddle state of child rearing. 1) The government. If I cannot paddle my childs ass in the supermarket (within reason) for acting like a spoiled little shit, throwing a tantrum beacuse I won't get him 'Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs' then how is he to learn? I hate to say it but words only go so far. ACTIONS scream over words at least ten fold. I remember being a kid and being a little shit while my mom was on the phone. I got my ass BEATEN with a wooden spoon. It was hit to the point that the goddamned thing broke. Guess what? I sure as shit was better behaved when it happened again. 2) The school system. If you don't give your child mind altering drugs beacuse he won't sit still in class your a shitty parent. This is beacuse every single drug peddling phamacutical company wants to see their profit go up. They overfill the media with tales of how their 'wonder drug' cured this child of his in ability to sit still and how his grades went up and how proud mommy and daddy are now. What they didn't tell you is that the school psychologist pushed the kid to get them. Even went so far as to write the child's doctor a note recommending this new drug so the child would calm down. Granted mommy is a stay at home watch soaps and wear her nightgown till dinner all day lazy piece of shit. Dad works his ass off to take care of junior, but he's never home and when he is he's a VERY abusive drunk. This makes the child act out when he can without fear of reprisal. The school psych pushed the drug, and the kid got settled, but he will forever be dependent on this drug dut to its 'reprogramming' effect on his little mind. So in effect not a goddamned thing changed. J I have been turned in twice for my parenting. Both times after the investigation was complete and I quote " If more parents had your principles of parenting our culture would be better off." I live in a very nosey area. Hell the other day my neighbor let his dog shit in my yard and I gave him 2 choices, he can either pick it up or I can get my shovel and throw it over at his house. He picked it up.

That is quite the variety of batteries.
  17. nem replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
What kind of batteries do you use?
  18. nem replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
The Xterra battery is on its way out also. (factory orginal) It would barely start by the end of winter. I am thinking a Diehard will be sufficent. I plugged it into my tender over night and is at max cap currently. This battery is only 5 years old, so I guess it may be time.
