I do beleive that the only way to use the Sirus or XM on last years units (8454 & 8053) is to use the aux input, that menas that you will have to have the external controller to change all the features of the radio.

Nah, even if I wanted to I dont think that my amps could handle the 16v cause they are already all the way down.

Does this make any sence? Unless he's competing in SPL, the SX peaking a bit louder isn't going to be a significant improvement for daily listening purposes. The XXX actually plays louder (on average) over the full freq spectrum the subs would play. So yea if you want a burp machine that just plays at the peak tuning freq, an SX would be a good choice. But if he wants a daily system that also has some SPL balls (and he's willing to pay the more $), the XXX is (imo) the better choice.

Well the price finally went down far enough!!!! $299 from cartoys with warranty!!! Picking it up tonight. Then turning around and selling the 8052 for $150 Pics either tonight or tomorrow. What can I say, this is the HU I have wanted forever
