Samn thing was happening with the mag & memphis 1000d. Turned out that the input boards were loose in the amp. Find another amp in the house to see if that is your problem. It may be time to fix or replace it.

just a few things to try. 1) turn the gain down on the front speakers, this will allow you to turn the volume up further. 2) Turn the bass up on the HU 3)try setting the gain with the HU at 3/4 volume using a DMM

I currently have 35% on sides and 20% on back.

When I tind windows I would have charged you $130, but that was in arkansas. I would expect ~$150 in CA. Tint dude is accurate. As far as what to get. 70% on the front sides will be light, a brow will help block the sun (make sure it is legal height.) I would go for 10% in the back and sides. Dark enough to not see in but light enough that you can still see backing up at night.
