RCA grounding
Yea its a pioneer. Everyone said that all i gadd to do was ground the rcas, but i tried that and it didnt work. I might be doing it wrong though.

RCA grounding
yea i tried to redo the negative battery ground, but the stock location is terrible. Could i just sand a spot on the metal, then take some 1/0 with a ring terminal on the end, then just solder it to the metal? because i dont know how else to do it. thanks.

RCA grounding
Yes. i redid both grounds. Could it be the battery ground? because it is still the stock ground and i cant get it off.

RCA grounding
I tried to ground my rca today because i have really bad engine noise, but it didnt work. I took speaker wire and touched it to the rca. (the outside metal part) then touched it to metal in my car, but the noise was still there. Am i doing it wrong? Could it be something else?

Trying to solder
i couldnt seem to get the solder to melt to the ring terminals when i first tried soldering. someone told me that you just have to hold the soldering iron on the 1/0, then let the solder melt into the 1/0, and that worked for me. I torched some of mine also. you just have to be careful you dont burn the jacket when you torch it. the torch will also melt the solder immediately, so make sure you put the solder on the 1/0 first. i figured that out the hard way and burnt myself. lol.

Trying to solder
get a torch. i bought a weller 100 watt soldering iron for 20 bucks and it took way to long to melt the solder and "soak" in. torches work better i think.

port placement
Thanks for the help. I think im going to try sub up, port back. i just have a good week or so now before i get my new amp, so i have a lot of time to prepare!

need help finding a video
i found a video of 4 18's in an expedition if that helps.

port placement
I cant really see the port, but if its facing forward into the cabin, i cant do that because of how the ltc trunks are.
-
port placement
I have a 1990 lincoln towncar, and i need help deciding on where the sub and port should go. I had my ss rl-p18 in there, sub/port back, but i didnt like that. I cant put the sub forward because ltc trunks are like pits with no clear passage to the cab if you get what im saying. Thanks

new box!!!
So i think im just going to make it about 6 cubes, and tune to 28hz. Im also trying to get an saz1000d or something that puts out 1000 watts at 1 ohm, so that might help a little with the output. Any other input on the size and woofer/port placement?

new box!!!
well ido listen to A LOT of chopped and screwed/ slowed down music. Some of it drops down to 24 hz, and i want to it to slam harder on those notes.
-
new box!!!
I cant really face it into the car because it's a towncar. the lowpass is at about 80, and its wired to 4 ohms getting about 740 watts. i heard that a bigger box would help out the lows.

new box!!!
bump. i want to start today on the box, any more input?
-
new box!!!
i was thinking of making the box sub up, port back, at about 6.5 cubes tuned to 28hz. does that sound ok?
-
new box!!!
i have the ssf at about 25. Should i build a bigger box? i have enough room for about 7 cubes.
-
new box!!!
I started to notice my sub was sounding a little weird today, so i check my box to make sure everything was ok, but it wasnt! i must have a leak in my trunk seal, because my box was soaked with water. booo. but anyways, i will be building a new box after i fix the leaks, and i need some advice on a different box setup. MY box was about 5 cubes after sub and brace displacement, tuned to 27hz. (sub/port back). I wasnt really impressed with the output at lower frequencies, and the overall output from the setup. (ss rl-p 18, aq2200d) Can anyone suggest a different design that can maximize the overall output? It's in a 1990 lincoln towncar. Thanks!

low end
i fixed the ssf, and it definitely is picking up the lower frequencies, but it still isnt as impressive as i thought it would be. i think its my box. could it be that about 5 cubes is too small?
-
low end
Alright. thanks! Do i have enough port area? its about 64sq in.
