Yeah, just splice in the +12v wire and run a wire to a toggle switch, then to the amp. Thats what I do in all of my setups. You might need a Line Output Convertor too if running stock head unit.

I wouldnt get the hifonics either, IMO you should just save a lil more money and get a SUNDOWN 1500 amp

jl makes some great sq woofers. i think it's the attitude not the woofer that get's bashed on. it is the "ey yo patna how many blokz cud u heer me frum wit sum jl dub sevens homey!??" attitude that gets people in trouble. yup

Peak power is not a rating, dont even pay attention to it. You have a big system planned which is going to require electrical upgrades because your 96 has a 100-110 amp alternator which is not enough. It seems to me that you have no idea what you are getting yourself into...but we are here to help, and might I suggest providing us goals, fabrication skills, type of music you listen to, BUDGET etc...
