  1. I can't seem to find another place to buy a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12.2 anywhere but a local shop and from sonicelectronix. Anyone know of where i could pick one up for a decent price? Sonicelectronix wants $189, plus $31 in shipping fees. I am looking for the newest model, which is this one if anyone knows where to get one it would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. bump thumper....ever come up with anything?
  3. turned out the subwoofer didn't fit the front baffle. I posted a topic in the enclosure forum. hoping somone can figure it out for me. I was thinking of making everything 2-3 inches taller. What do you think?
  4. yah it was too tall, i used the Flash tool on here. Just looking for a new design, should i just make everything 2 inches taller or more and go with that?
  5. Need a box designed for a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12.2 500W RMS 1000W Max. Cutout is 11.4" I am looking for a 30hz tune. Had one designed, and almost fully built, come to finish and subwoofer would not fit the front plate.
  6. awesome thanks, i started working on building it today.
  7. Mainly, more rap, but metallica, disturbed...etc. too. I just am finding the box tool confusing to use, could you possibly throw one together for me on there. and just send a print screen so i can get the dimensions. It will be my first time making a ported enclosure and using this tool.
  8. well just to give it power it is a Lanzar 250 amp, which supposedly pushes 1000 watts on 2 channels. It is a 1000 watt maximum subwoofer, i have had it in a smalllllll sealed box before, and I know it can get louder for sure. I was looking at building it for the 35hz, but the recommended enclosure is a 1.75 cu. ft. and 37hz. that is a circular port. I would like to keep it a rectangular port. Next setup is 2.25cu. ft. and has a 20 sq. inch port, but is a 40 hz. which would you recommend?
  9. i've gotten the size of the box right and port length, but it should be 20 sq in for the port, it comes out to be 41. Any ideas I can do to fix it, without screwing up it already, i have it tuned to 35hz also.
  10. great help, but I can't really figure out how to use it exactly.here are the specs I need and know how to input them into this. Total Volume: 2.5 Cu. Ft. Port Area: 20 sq in. Port Length: 17" Port Tuning: 35hz Net Volume: 2.15 cu ft even a walk through on how to input this would be great, thanks!
  11. sorry, but btw i would want a 35hz setup, with a rectangular port if that helps!
  12. could someone help me with blueprints for the recommend ported box? I just need measurements and if possible some CAD designs or drawings that would be great. My dad is great with blueprints and I want to get him involved into this project, so thanks for your help if possible!
  13. I have a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12" and am looking to build a ported box for it, but cannot find the specs! Anyone know of the specs and/or tune it to? It is the newest model, hard to find on the web. All black cone with Red Lettering, not the silver model. Thanks for any help at all!
  14. hey thanks guys. Chris is helping me get my set up around and pricing everything out, so hopefully by next summer/spring i will have a FI BL 15" on a Sundown 1500d with 1/0 gauge and big 3 done.
  15. they are well built boxes, guy does car audio for a living, Redmonds of Saginaw,MI
  16. alright, so just save. Just only thing stopping me is the parents, they obviously think it is dumb because there is no goal to it or payoff to them. i will try to find a sundown being that they are so highly talked of around here.
  17. Ok, you are starting to change my thinking now, lol. Send me a link for a good amp to run this then, possibly the 1500d. I am gonig to wait till mid march to do this, so i can save my money. Will I need to get a power supply? or extra battery by chance. It is a 2.2 Cavalier, dims SOME with the 1000 watt, not too bad though.
  18. sorry for making an appearance as a dbag to you guys lol. yes i had it on 8gauge, never had any problems with it. And i know i will upgrade to 4 gauge when i get a larger amp. I do not have it hooked up anymore btw, I am trying to sell my old setup at the moment
  19. Oh don't worry about that, i'd have a box made, a place near me makes ported boxes for 15's for 85 Dollars. Which isn't a bad deal at all right? I'd need to buy 4 ga. wiring if i am to get the amp though, i only have 8 ga. on a 1000 watt amp...
  20. The Kicker was not mine, it was a friends, he let me have it for a week to see if I liked it, but he sold it before I could come up with the money. Are Hifonics just poorly built or what? I see guys on youtube with them on FI BL's kicking hard.
  21. I definatly understand your meaning what you are trying to get to me. But what is wrong with a Hifonics amp? If I were to save up 1,000 dollars, would I have enough for a good amp, FI BL, wiring/box?
  22. it's just hard to see me put out 600+ for an amp, PLUS the subwoofer/box, and my future components. The Hifonics seem like a good amp, if you do not beat on them. What is a good wattage to run to a BL btw? I see it is 1000rms, and many ppl using the 1500d, which is 1500rms right? so if i were to possibly think about the hifonics 1206d, that wouldn't be harming it right?
  23. well i've had a 6.0 cu ft. ported box in my trunk before. It was a Kicker L7, i loved it, but i only had the 1000 watts on that too. I might go about and get a hifonics amp then get the BL.
