thats what im thinking about doing...i've told him tons of things that he needs to do with his system, but he wont listen to me. he doesnt believe that you can "tune" a box when you make it, and he says that wouldnt make a difference with what frequency of notes the subs will pick up, to him that depends on the power goin to the subs and he had his amp bolted to the box covering up half the port...and said it doesnt make a difference in sound....

that i dont know. and as far as the gain i told him how to do that, but he said he likes it the way it is...

the way he has the subs hooked up they are spliced into the factory subwoofer channel....so for some reason it doesnt even really hit unless the volume is all the way up when the bass is all the way off. but i have no clue how he wired the subs before, but i said forget it and took them out wired them to a 4ohm load on the amp and they sound wonderful now. nice and clear and hit hard as hell. no dimming, nothing shutting off. everything seems to be working fine now. gain is all the way down...and i think he said he turned ss filter all the way up..

damn...that box carpet looks like it matches that paint perfectly. i cant even lie...thats one of the cleanest looking boxes ive seen. good work man.

stock everything electrical no nothing....hes what you'd call a noob to car audio. half the things i tell him he doesnt know what im talking about.

my friend let me borrow is 08 avalanche for a couple days and i was of course blastin the music....i had the volume on the head unit all the way up bass all the way down and the volume on the ipod all the way up wit the EQ set to treble booster. i played put on and on the high note the lights dim to the point that they are almost off and last night all fo the electronics acutally reset while i was driving the truck when i was bangin. the guages all shut off radio went off lights went off...everything went off for about 2 seconds then came back on and it was playing fine again...but still dimming. also the subs sometimes just cut out and stop playing all together when i turn it up all the way but when i turn it back down they play again. 2 12" L7's powerd by an alpine pdx1000 btw. that may not make perfect sense...im kind of typin in a rush im at shcool. need any clarity just ask and ill explain more... thanks

ive always liked dc subs...what are their prices like for 12's and 15's? *for the lvl4's?

thats what im thinking too....fully loade bl 15 is more than 300 bucks. the hdc 15 is only 250 and if they are more comparable to the btl im thinking its definately a better buy

okay thanks...any other input guys/girls? anybody have any hands on experience wit them or runnin them at the moment?

in your (non biased) opinion, which sub would you say, in there optimal enslure w/at least rms power running to them, would sound better/be louder? a few guys on CA.com i was talking to said that i should get the HDC's over the BL's and that they are louder. he said the HDC's are more comparable to the BTL's....of course i have my doubts but i want to know what you guys think thanks

my friends got a 08 avalanche wit 12" L7's..as you can see from the title. this is the box he has... http://caraudiofactory.com/20012009-chevy-...poly-p-270.html it picks up absolutely no low notes whatsoever....he wants his chit to hit low as hell. i know a custom box for this truck will be pretty hard at first...but im tellin him it will probably be worth it. i havent seen too may custom builds on avy's. an suggestions/ideas? if its too vague let me know and ill see if i can explain a little more in detail. thanks

umm...you will really feel the bass either way you go. both subs are beasts if you have them setup right. the btl can handle a bit more power and if thats what your looking for than thats what you should get. its a straight spl beast. but if you dont want to spend the money on the btl, the bl will satisfy you just as well....like i said and most others will say too all in the right setup. what exactly are you looking for in your system?

thats kinda vague....what do you mean it sounds like its not handling the power? sounds like its clipping? bottoming out? the btl should be able to handle the power that amps puttin out all day...

in the right enclosure, good electrical, good CLEAN power i say the bl would out perform the T1 in most ways if not everyway. ive heard bl's a couple times in person and they out perform most "main-stream" subs i have heard.

would you really be able to tell the difference in sound from having it ported on the side as apposed to having a center port?
