Are you anywhere near the evac area? my old house was, where i live now is probably the safest property from storms, fires, earthquakes etc in the county. i did have to shelter some evacuees friday night, that wasn't too fun.

bleh it's smoky. they brought in the dc-10 to drop fire retardant today. that is one biiiiiiiig airplane to be doing low altitude drops along the mountain ridge.- Welcome to the IHoP
i've bout had it with raining ash. i think i'm going impromptu beach camping with the dog, a bottle of bourbon, a twelver of sierra nevada, my tent, coals, and a couple racks of ribs i've been marinating.- Welcome to the IHoP

i've been around some pretty amazing fires, including the 1991 oakland hills fire. the fire we have burning now, is the most hellish, awful, terrifying fire i've ever seen. i took this pic last night with a broken point n' shoot digital. it doesn't look like much but those flames from that hotspot were 8-10 miles away and shining through a shit ton of smoke. the flames are a couple hundred feet high and blowing laterally for hundreds of feet at a time. i watch a home literally vaporize last night.- Welcome to the IHoP
5.3L! x2 You can drop a 5.3L into a 240sx and the 5.3L is lighter than the stock block Good luck fitting one in a 2002, the M30 would go in a lot easier, it would stay in the family, can make more power than that chassis can handle and is flat out one of the most reliable engines the world has ever seen. yeah i was looking for something about half that displacement. i'd like to keep weight to a minimum and reliability/efficiency to a maximum. i like the look of the bmw 2.5l as it was rated somewhere around 215hp stock iirc. the goal is a fast reliable daily driver with good highway mileage that looks stock but that tears up all the windy mountain roads here in cali. a standing quarter in the low 13's would be nice too.- Welcome to the IHoP
How about an M30 I6? Bulletproof and can give you way more than 200hp. i am starting to plan out my next vehicle, i've had the accord for 8 years and even though it runs perfect i am itching for some change. looking at maybe 15k initial budget, which means 5k for the car 10k for the motor and another 5k for unexpected repairs (lol i know that's 20). i know this is tons of work but i like this: http://www.m2bmw.com/AlanRich.htm- Welcome to the IHoP
what kind of reliable 200+ hp motor can be dropped in a 68-71 bmw 2002 for less than $10k?- Welcome to the IHoP

West of campus? Is that pool the ocean? i know it's weird but the ocean is actually south of us, we have an east-west mountain range and south facing bay, like monaco or rio. so it would seem like i'm north of campus when in actuality i'm a couple miles west up the coast.- Welcome to the IHoP
Thermite? I want to get rid of the resin...not my whole hand! Just use some nail polish remover, acetone works the best though. You can get a big can of it at home depot. I took care of it, I washed my hands, did some chores around the house, at dinner, took a shit, and now it's gone so your hands are covered in shit? you sick fucker.- Welcome to the IHoP
sooooo santa barbara is really burning this time, i know it's like our 6th fire in 18 months but for real we are burning this time. i happen to live in a bulletproof townhouse complex that is religiously maintained by homeowners fees and is located in the marsh area west of campus/iv. i sat floating in the pool with the wind at my back while it was 95 degrees at 6pm today, watching armageddon fires burn 6 miles away.- Welcome to the IHoP
foie grois is delicious on just about anything salty, it's just too expensive and rich to eat on a regular basis, sort of like lobster, veal and duck.- Welcome to the IHoP
ya what's his deal with the birdshot, sadistic bastard, i bet he looked like dick cheney.- Welcome to the IHoP
There isn't a completely "green" electricity source out there. They'll bitch about everything, so they may as well lay off. It's not like they're going to think up any new ways to create electricity. solar- New in NJ/TX: 96 Accord
welcome to ssa! i've got a 95 accord coupe which has the same trunk as yours, and i was able to cram a 15" in a 4cu ft enclosure tuned to 33hz back there. i think a single 15 or two twelves would be a good choice for that space, and just a hunch but i think a BL is probably the woofer you'd want based on what info you've provided us so far.- Welcome to the IHoP
yeah, we ate at the culinary school's formal dining restaurant, 3 course lunch for $20 = win.- Welcome to the IHoP
