U.S. AMPS XT4000D
how many 8's? you could get a sundown 1500 for less than that @ db-r.com. if you're only running one or two speakers i think either of those amps is going to provide you with a lot of extra power you may not use. perhaps an sax 100.2 would work better for a single or dual speaker setup. tell us what your goals, budget, space and listening preferences are and some of the more knowledgeable members may feel inclined to help ya out.

intermittent voltage on remote from head unit
thanks for all the advice, i decided to use a spst switch that will make it's way into the car cabin eventually. right now it's in the trunk but i think for my use it will be better for me to be able to turn the amp on and off manually. the info on relays is really helpful though, when i checked at my local store the same relays that are on PE for two bucks cost about 15 bucks!

95 Honda Accord Build Log
i've got a 95 coupe, i went with 4cu @ 34hz, had to cut a piece of the body off in order to get the box to slide all the way back. still got my spare tire in there too, don't know how i'd get to it though.

being lazy, fake people is what makes them ugly. it's actually true, i haven't had a quality girlfriend in over a year. at first being around all these girls that look like they're from a ggw dvd was exciting, then one discovers how empty they are inside. i actually have more compelling conversations with my electronics equipment and my dog than most of the girls out here. now that's not to say they aren't great for a poke now and then but when you're sober it's tough to dumb yourself down to their level, almost demeaning.

never said they were great looking, but pretty much every girl here is a rich little slut who's partying on daddy's money, i think the picture depicts that pretty well. some look better some worse.

though i would not normally respond to such an ignorant post i'm going to have to go ahead and contradict myself by saying it is important to remember that: the only stupid questions are the ones that never get asked. this forum is a resource where people can better their understanding of car audio in a constructive way, please have some respect for people who are motivated to learn.

Because of the huge sudden influx of morons? yeah........it's quite out of hand. Where did they all come from all of a sudden? Denim and the mods sure have their hands full. I pity the foo' I know it's not nice and detracts from the forum a little, but I can't help being a little bit mean. the majority of us in here feel the same way we refer to them as Fitards there's been a lot of simple minded name calling and negativity lately...

Welcome to the IHoP
has anyone had a remote from their deck die? mine is going on and off, i checked voltage @ the headunit and that's the source of the problemo. is there any alternative to a new HU or inline 12v switch? i.e. another wire on the headunit that could be spliced with my remote? edit: i made a topic here http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=22613 but i prefer info from my fellow hoppers

intermittent voltage on remote from head unit
has anyone had a remote that went on and off, i checked the voltage from the wire that comes directly out of the deck and it goes on and off intermittently. the deck is very old and seen a lot of abuse, my question is can i splice my remote wire with another to achieve the same effect or am i stuck buying a new headunit, i guess i could run a wire from some 12v source and throw a switch in between but that's a hassle.
