  1. BoomAmen ok ok at least its better then "bang a butt"
  2. Hi Guys, I have been in contact with you guys before and was wondering... First of I am currently located in Singapore and owning a car here cost about 3x the price of over there in the US...suppose that is how they control traffic on the island. Many moons ago I asked you guys about an alt for a Lancer GLX. I was told there were too many mounting possibilities. I ended up taking my alt out and shipping it to ur frnds at ohio Gen who were the only guys willing to help at the time. The thing developed a cold start squeak and to ship it back will mean I have wait another month or so just for a alt; their service was great but boy that would be a pain. This also means I need to pay an additional 1.5k for the car just to sit in the car-park down payments etc. Any chance to take measurements photo's and what have you in order to get what I need? That time shipping the alt back and forth including the mod cost me around 1K and that makes your ready order alts so much more attractive. Its still a lot of money but it sure is a whole lot better if i can use my car for the same period. More so I will still have a spare should your alt die/ unlike now where the original was modified. + u have pimp colors. Thanks
  3. Nah I need something that can crack concrete walls. Does this mean that two 12 BL's should make me happy as well for HT/Music needs? Will they have mechanical problems if I tune that low? If not I might just have to get a BTL from you instead for my car which brings me to another topic. I used to have both BL's in my car which basically screwed up the whole boot and with the baby stuff and shopping always having to go on the front seat...this didt fly with the misses. I found that a single 12 to be somewhat of a good compromise. Will a single 12 BTL make me happy and hit those hard lows? How about basterdizing me two BTL 10's ahaha or maybe I should just take a 15, then again I always wanted a 18 but it will never fit in the rice burner. Here is the setup that I liked at 30-32HZ but it took too much space. amp was only there for testing. Then this worked pretty good for me but sounded like shit at 40HZ though arguably louder then the setup above. Sorry for all the rambling Fi is the best!
  4. OK thanks Guys. What do you guys recommend. Sealed or ported. Yes I know its the age long question on preference, but in all honesty I only know the characteristics of the BL's. It will be paired with Dynaudio Focus range and will see a fair bit of music as well. The Components are driven by a Denon while the sub will get a Crown amp with some headroom in case I want to go hooligan again in the future. Thank for all the replies.
  5. Any chance for a 21" or will a 18 provide enough awesomeness?
  6. Tuck in that tummy ya hillbilly. Thanks for sharing.
  7. Interesting, what is this polished version? Polished basket? What do u recommend sealed or ported? Small room but opens to a larger area. With no boot to limit me i recon a 18 is in order? Im in no rush due to renovations ...all this will likely happen towards dec.
  8. Yeah i figured it woulld be a q or two. How about the other questions. Feel free to pm me if its a toucy subject. I can wait for the ht stuff as im no rush as it is. Thx guys.
  9. Rather then stay up until 3 in the morning for firechat due to time differences i though id ask here... Need a sub for my HT. Currently I have two BL's in my car. I want something that that plays lower with more depth then the BL's. I love low lows with presence. IB is not a option in my current place. What is my options and what options should I select? is there something else I should specify? Sealed ported whatever I can build the box and consider my self a bass-head intermediate but this whole HT thing has me baffled. I know Scott has his finger in other sub companies as well, which makes me think why Fi and not any of the other companies he has a part in? I need good a good sub and the price is not so much a problem as performance might be; as shipping will kill me anyway. Thanks
  10. now to add international orders to cut down on the email comm not to mention the security gap that goes with it.
  11. Any one up for creating a Firefox persona for Fi? http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/customize/
  12. Awesome Subs. I prefer them tuned to around 30-32 HZ the lost in SQ is a fair bit towards 40Hz in my application though a fair bit louder even with a single driver. Louder to the ear not sure what the meter will say, but there is obviously less presence with just one driver. I love my low lows. 30-32hz 40HZ
  13. Thanks Guys... It will mostly be for Music but it might see the odd movie. I am currently house shopping so changing things wont be a problem but Im sure my wife will kill me with 4 18" holes for a IB in our living room haha. I will keep my eyes open for the upcoming woofers. I dont need a boat load of base but accurate base with some headroom for some party music would be good.
  14. wow thanks for the fast reply. I love the sound of the BL in my car. Had both in there but had to cut down to make space for the baby's gear. I should have mentioned its a D1 not so sure about home amps but I suspect running 2ohms stable might be a problem? In the SQ environment which is considered better IB or sealed box regardless of all the veriables? thanks
  15. Ive been contemplating this recently and was wondering how the Fi would do in home audio? I am considering a a IB or a Q but then again I have a spare BL just sitting here. Which would work best and how well will they really perform. Lets be honest here I want loud and good sounding in my car but for home use I am more focused on SQ then breaking things. Thanks
  16. This works for me...
  17. I ran two loaded BL's of a saz 3000D at 32 HZ as was recommended by MR Fi and to date have not had any problems...if any thing I think there are some more in them.
  18. Why does the poll not have lanzar in it? Sure they are not the best but still worth a mention right?
  19. I want a single 10" that can be run of a SAZ-3000D and does not sound like shit on music. ...is that possible? Thanks Punkey
  20. 0.9 cubic feet tuned @ 36hz worked really well, and we were feeding it 500rms good stuff, we'll give it a try. He;s running a 1000BD if I remember right. thanks bro.
  21. My frnd recently accuired two RFP3SD subs but my knowledge on box design for these shallow subs are limited. Please help me with box capacity and tuning(ported). I know normal RF subs like a bitt of high tuning but for these ...i have no clue if they will like it to be different. His goal is to squeeze it in a GETZ so space is a problem, if one will fit better, we might just go that way but he refuses to change subs so ill try and get this working for him. He want it loud with a bit of oomf but IDK so would appreciate your imput. Thanks guys.
  22. nvm I used an RF cap, seems to be holding up just fine
  23. does anyone read? lol and i second stealths request (as i head back to hca) and "The technology behind it and all the research might be worth more in some cases....then again the loudspeaker design didnt change much over the past 50 40 years" sure speakers work the same way, but are you seriously trying to say that there's little to no research and testing that goes into speakers? cought
