Rear-Firing in Single Cab?
rear-firing doesn't work well.. you'll lose a ton of output. best off front firing or down firing.... I don't know how you'll manage to down-fire a 12

I know... REX rules suck... the guy hasn't bought the truck yet so I'm not sure where it's going anyway.

slacking... someone offered to buy the truck complete with stereo... for a decent price... so I'm mulling it over should be picking up the new SPL car tomorrow!

the meter from make it louder works and is pretty accurate. I used mine for about a year before I dropped the mic and it stopped reading properly. aalso remember that if you buy the mic only, it has to be hooked to a multi-meter and then the reading from the multimeter has to be converted to DB's... so it's a little more work than other meters.

OK that's what I thought you meant... hopefully it doesn't flex enough to tear the sheet metal... *** I only had one woofer built and installed so I figured I'd mess with it.. My son's mom just picked him up so guess I can get busy..

So you screwed into the cab itself??? I'm confused...... ***on the other note... my current box was louder with a single woofer and an open woofer-hole than my test box was... it did 145's without the second woofer being in the baffle... (at a much higher frequency.. like 62-63hz...) I've had my son for a few days so I haven't gotten anything done... if I try to build he wants to help.. He's super clumsy and doesn't mind when you're not looking, he'll just turn something on and try to use it... (wether it be a saw, sander, ect... if dad can do he can... or he thinks...) He starts school next week so he'll be back with his mom and I'll be back to playing.

SoundSolutionsAudio.com make over
site looks nice. however, I have a forum question..... where do all the threads I reply to dissappear to???? after I reply I can't ever see them again??? they are no longer visable in the "view new content" view... I have to look them all up manually after posting in the thread....

I don't believe that there's any meter that gets to that decible level in that price range.. 140db about as high as I've ever seen in that price range (those mics are for pro-audio) AudioControl mics are gonna be in the same ballpark as the T/L you could look into the EPIC160 from audioControl.. it's a 1/2 din dash mount unit ... you could use it for a general idea...I think they're in the 150 range

my cab hits the bed of the truck while it's playing--I'm going to make a rubber "gasket" to keep it from touching.. not to mention that the topper is getting smacked as well.. there's no paint left where the topper is close to the cab... just get the baffle sealed off from the rear of the truck and you shouldn't have any issues...

wish you fellas could see/hear in person.. nothing like 150db in the 26-33hz range *it's over 150 on all those freqs* Too bad that has to change to be competitive.. Fun while it lasted... nothing like playing a full 20 hz track with no issues Didn't get it swapped today, ended up watching the nephews instead... they're playing wii at the moment... gotta go guard my TV..

doesn't show the flex well... the camera just doesn't show it. the windshield bubbles about 1-1.5" the door skins jump about the same.... oh well... someone will have to see it in person and confirm. I don't even think Joe paid much attention to it at the show geesh joe

A few new video's
come on man where's the flex at? I've gotta get some vids of mine flexing.. **waiting for you're new install...

let's see it what ORG are you building for? each one needs a different design to be loud at the mic location.. sealed on the dash is way easier/louder than the meca headrest score... 2-3db louder... I haven't metered mine on the dash but I'm sure it does a pretty little number.

Your vehicle isn't an issue.. those can get loud... you're tuned way down from where you need to be.. even at 35 hz tuning you'll see a gain.. you should peak in the 42-45hz range(if memory serves me right) so tuning should be from 35-40 you'd gain a db or two with different tuning. My setup is tuned too low as well.. tuned 24 hz the box peaks in the 30hz range so that's where I burped it at the comp... it's actually louder elsewhere but we'll keep that under wraps till finals

thanks! do you do meca as well? I see you have a headrest score posted as well. **playing "white Girl" I can do a 149.9 *(peak)* this plays music all day with no issues (due to the low power and low tuning)

I don't have any good vids of the flex. my camera is too slow--doesn't even look like it moves in the vids. the windshield goes pretty good, as well as the back glass (which fell out--re-gooped it in--still holding) the sides, doors and everything else on the truck flex pretty good. the back of the cab moves enought that it hits the bed and the topper.. 20hz is even better.. 145ish db and 24 hz is 148ish they're all very taxing on the truck.. snapped the rearview mirror off playing 24hz---not the glue--it broke the metal shaft in half every thing in my overhead display is broken.. barely holds to the roof--had to use drywall screws to put it back up when it fell. I'll try to come up with a better camera to take better vids. I'm pulling everything out tomorrow to do some adjusting and bracing--the box has no bracing at all. after it's done I'll put it back in to test to see where and what I gained. this needs to be 155ish db atleast before I'm happy. probably will go with 4 of the dmx 12's on the 4 pack of amps we'll see where the 15's get first though.
-
Rushnrun's Dodge Ram 1500 install
****I should mention that The 4 pack of amps puts out a ton of power... I just don't gain any output by using them--the low tuning and large size of the box hinders the mechanical ability of the woofer--they really get to moving at that low frequency (they're only suppose to be in 2 cubes each-so they're more than double) box will be rebuilt and re-tuned... I shouldn't be burping at 30hz for SPL More impressive to do a 50 at 30hz than 60 hz though

tested my power output today... only getting 1760 watts at 30hz to do the 150+db I switched to one amp today instead of the 4pack and I only lost .2db ;D Looks like I've got some gaining to do... ****no wonder I don't pop fuses... I thought I was just that good this year some pics spl with only one of the p1500.1's
-
Rushnrun's Dodge Ram 1500 install
Oh yeah... those scores are at 30hz... It'll burp all the way to 18hz without any issues (still does mid 40's)

150.2 on day two... looks like more volume doesn't mean more output.. I'm gonna test power output at 150db to see what the subs are getting..

150.3.... not all it has... hit the source button instead of volume to increase the roll. No biggie... still the loudest street vehicle here. we'll see what tomorrow brings

side firing port+ extended cab truck = loud... will you be at the show?? I've got a short somewhere in the truck causing blown fuses (acc fuse, illumi fuse, brake fuse, ect,,) I think it's my trailer plug.. I'll try to deal with it in the morning. Should put up a decent number tomorrow either way.
