  1. Just one, wanted to do both but the home depot wood was being a bitch, too brittle, so just 45'd everything on the bottom one...
  2. Hey all, So I recently decided its time to throw down with our basements system. Recently purchased two Fi SSD 18's to go along with our existing Memphis M3 15's and our QMC 1850HD amplifiers. I along with some help am building the enclosures. The first one is done and already throws down. (For the 15's) I will get a video soon and post it up, just keep nagging me. But here are some pics... Here are some crappy build pics from my cell phone Here are some pictures of the SSD's Let me know what you guys think, the first enclosure already rattles the house. YOu can feel the ground outside the basement pulsate... The first enclosure as been carpeted I am still working on a grill piece for protection and such. Watch for more pics...
  3. Hey all, I have plenty of experience in the auto world but when it comes to home audio I am a newb. We have two existing Memphis 15's and are currently running them off of one channel of our sub amp. We use to have a servo driven unit on the other channel but it repetedly fails so I have been tasked to add another set up. We are grabbing 2 18" SSD's and I am making two seperate new enclosures, one for the 15's and one for the 18's. My question comes in how many cubes should I be looking at? It seems everyone goes really large but I dont wanna burn up the sub by not having enough resistance on the movement of the cone, so I was thinking 8 net for the 15's and around 12 net for the 18's. I was gonna do a slot port design on each tuned to 35 Hz... Any advice appreciated, I will be sure to update you all with pics
  4. Yeah it is a trunk, it should fit, I did a similar size in a friends Taurus of the same year, it was tight as hell, but it went in with persuasion haha Thank you! Thanks a lot!
  5. How does it sound?
  6. awesome box man, looks real clean
  7. I really didnt have to many problems, you just need to do some math to figure out how much material needs to be removed when you have for instance a 3" outer diameter and 2.25" inner diameter (because of 3/4 mdf) use formulas for circumfrence, if you are only doing a 90 degree bend then divide the circumference by 4. I did 11 cuts at half inch intervals leaving about 3/32 of material, you have to work the wood back and forth and go from there...
  8. Install is coming along, keep up the good work
  9. That is an awesome build, great fiberglassing skills right there!
  10. So guys my Taurus has went through many a system but is time to let loose and get it to the point I have always wanted. Crisp clean highs and solid bottom end, by no means "sq" perfect but close as I can still being loud. Plans include: AQ2200D Amplifier Fi BTL 15" Loaded D2 2 Batteries Upgraded Alt 1/0 Gauge Runs and Big 3 (Complete) Fully Deadened Front doors (Complete) Trunk Deadened 4 Cubic Foot Box at 34 Hz with Kerfs (In progress) Pioneer Door Speakers and 12 Gauge Ran through molexes (Complete) Amped Front Speakers off Profile AP400 (Complete) Some pics of the big 3 Started the box: Here is a sketchup model of it, the front will be double baffled, hence the offset you will see inthe build pics, so far there is only the back section Practice kerfing THis is the inner port section Port painted Thats it for now, I love input, let me know what you guys think, I learned a lot about kerfing, so any questions ask...

  12. Just drew this up on sketch up, 5 cubic feet tuned to 32 Hz with port dimensions 5 Wide x 16 High x 34 Long... Wondering what you guys think!
  13. Good build going man... Some advice on your fiberglass techniques, look into a thing called a "rabbit bit" and getting a router, it allows you to make a small grove and really cleans up your work piece when you attach fabric for your shapping of the fiberglass surface
  14. Looks nice man
