Welcome to the IHoP
Nothing burns my butthole more than looking for the remote, and finding it peacefully existing on the TV. IF I WANTED TO WALK OVER TO THE TELEVISION, I'D JUST pucking CHANGE THE CHANNEL WHILE I'M THERE. I WANT TO SIT ON THE pucking COUCH AND CHANGE THE pucking CHANNEL, HENCE THE REASON WE OWN A REMOTE CONTROL !

Welcome to the IHoP
Why my fiancee feels the need to constantly place the device designed specifically for controlling the television from a distance via infared transmission on top of the pucking television, I'll never understand.

Eclipse CD8053 Question
At the very least you can convert that phono output for the headphones to RCA outputs to run into your auxillary input on the HU. Radioshack would likely sell the appropriate cable.

Welcome to the IHoP
I was in this random guy's house a few weeks back. He had nine Dual 6x9's, arranged in three rows of three, in the ceiling of his living room connected to his home theater system. He thought it was killer. I didn't have the heart to tell him how horrible it looked or sounded.

MJ-18 Test Results Posted
http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...wtopic=4820&hl= Everything's in that thread....T/S specs, Bl & Kms curves as well as the motor design that would have been used and pics of what it would have looked like. Pretty much everything was done but having the proto built..... I really think that would have been one sweet IB driver.

Kyle or anyone else that knows TC drivers...
Funny....I was doing some searching for some information for myself, and stumbled across this thread; http://www.elitecaraudio.com/forums/showth...threadid=109835 Supergrass, as I'm sure you are aware, is a former TC employee. I also remember reading several times that the Ti Pro's are horribly overmotored (IIRC they have an obsurdly low Q), and that for musical applications the regular Ti's are a much better option. I dunno....I think you might want to think more intently about the decision to purchase the sub.....

Sub Placement
Put a good high excursion 8" or 10" subwoofer under the dash in the center of the car, situated like a center console

Little wiring help
So the voltage at the amplifier's battery input terminal drops if you connect any power source to the REM input on the amplifier?

audiobahn 3 way component set
Those type of horn lenses will not work well in a vehicle. If you've ever looked at car audio horn bodies, you'll notice they are flared at the mouth both vertically and horizontally (towards the opposite listener). This is done for two very important reasons.....First, they are flared vertically to create a very high vertical dispersion pattern, so that when they are mounted under the dash the sound will "roll" up the dash, creating a high soundstage (the dash essentially acts as an extension of the horn's mouth). Second they are flared horizontally so that much of the sound pressure is diverted towards the opposite listener. This helps both seats receive a relatively even amount of sound from both horns, again aiding in the ability of the horn to soundstage and image properly. Also, most car audio horns have bolt-on compression drivers, not screw-on.

Sealed or Ported
Agreed. Why in particular do you want to switch to begin with?

Eclipse 8053 + h701?
I wouldn't agree with that statement. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I wouldn't outright say one is absolutely better than the other. A 10-band parametric may work better for stereo A, while the 31-band graphic may work better for stereo B. It's all install, equipment and vehicle dependent. Parametrics are good for targeting specific problem areas, whereas the 31-band graphic is better for smoothing the entire response But the H701 has both...so it doesn't really matter Use whichever happens to work best for your particular situation. Main disadvantage with a parametric in most digital processors is that there are predefined frequencies which must be selected for the parametric EQ. It's not completely variable like most parametric analog processors are. There are a few digital processors, though, that offer complete control over the frequency. The Sony 4000x comes to mind (processor for the Sony C90).

Eclipse 8053 + h701?
Can't. The EQ would need 6 independent channels of input and output in order to use the 3-way xovers on the 8053. Only EQ's that I'm aware of that have that many independent channels are a few of the Audiocontrol models.

Eclipse 8053 + h701?
Having a 24-bit deck doesn't mean diddly if you're bypassing the DAC and running digi out to the processor

Eclipse 8053 + h701?
I'm not really sure why you would want to run the H701 through the auxillary input on the 8053. That would completely defeat the purpose of the H701, since you wouldn't be able to use any of the xover or time alignment functions. The 8053 does, however, have digital coaxial output. Since the H701 doesn't accept coaxial in but does accept toslink (optical) input, partsexpress has a coaxial to toslink convertor for around $25, and a gentleman called Kev7909 on ECA can mod it to 12V DC for you for like $20 (I had him do this for me). That would work out really well, since most of the problems associated with the H701 (noise floor, etc) are all related to the analog inputs....plus you would have the advantage of running digital the entire length of the vehicle (no induced noise). But yeah....Eclipse 8053 + Digi Out + C701 + H701 = Great combination
