Heh....it was like that when you were posting there. Only a handful of members with any decent worthwhile knowledge to share. Everyone else posting misinformation or uniformed opinions.

Look who I saw in the airport...
I thought those were creatures only of lore. Riding around on their unicorns, skipping through the forest of Never Never Land. But oh my.....they do exist !!

Anyone seen Kent lately?
You disappearing for a month or two is not atypical. Kent, on the other hand, lives and breaths for SSA.

SVC 4ohm and powering
With a good power supply, a single Memphis 16-MCD4kw would be good. Or, if you really wanted some power on tap, strap a pair of them to the subwoofer. Rockford Fosgate T30001 should give in the 1600-1800w range @ 4ohm. Or strap a pair of the older 1500bd's or 1501bd's for close to 3000w @ 4ohm. Strapped Orion 1200D's should be ~1600w @ 4ohm.. If you could find a Tru Tech Sledgehammer SH1 around, that would give you ~2000w @ 4ohm. If the Kicker 2500.1 is underrated, it could be capable of atleast 1500w @ 4ohm. Autotek MM4000.1D should give 2000w @ 4ohm Massive Audio D400X should do ~2400w @ 4ohm I believe. Older US Amps had a 2000 (or 2000X, whatever) that would do ~2000w @ 4ohm. Don't know about the new lineup. Hifonics XX Goliath should do ~1500w @ 4ohm.

Did you snatch up those Coustic DR's?? All but three of the 306Es. Eight drivers for $180 shipped is a great deal if you ask me. Especially for these. You'll be very pleased with them. I absolutely love my Coustic 306P's. They sound fantastic and can really hammer out the midbass (hell, they can hammer out bass pretty damn well). So, if you find you don't want or need them at a future point in time....toss them my way

Anyone ever checked to see how warm the cone gets?
Well, given that the cone will flex during high excursion; wouldn't that deform the cone aswell?

difference between HT and CA watts supply?
I think Kyle hit the answer to the question right on the head. The subwoofer itself will perform the same in both enviornments (assuming same enclosure, same actual power, etc). However, what you actually hear will change due to the different enviornments. The home setup will have far less "cabin gain", etc etc.

RCA's vs. Interconnects
That's good stuff right there.

I have no idea who that is.

How long ago did they lay you off? If it was within a reasonably recent time frame; I'd tell them you'll go back but they have to start your benefits package at the same point it was at when you got laid off, and increasing from there as it typically would for someone with that seniority. They laid you off for budgetary reasons. You didn't quit, and you didn't get fired. If they didn't do that, I'd say screw 'em.

I have carpet in my car for the first time in over a year. And as I hadn't even seen my car's carpet for over a year, I had forgotten how damn dirty it is

Uh Oh.......
Don't get me wrong....it sounds great with 800w. If someone were buying this sub for a pure SQ install, 800w would do it. Blends well with the frontstage. Not overpowering, not overbearing. But, there are definitely subs that get louder off of the same power (atleast with this sub in this box). The Rl-p in 1.25cuft sealed off of the same amp (with a little lower gain setting, hence less power) has more overall output than the Rl-s in 3.5cuft sealed. I might try tossing a few blocks of wood in the box today, drop the box size down some and see what happens. Should have a decent boost in output, but efficiency will probably go down some along with low end extension....so I don't know how it'll sound off of this power in a smaller box.

Post your Audio Setup!!!
Yeah....that's a hell of an amp for the money. But not quite as powerful as I'm looking for. I want a good ~200w per side if possible for the fronts, then bridge the rears to a sub (if I did switch to a 4-channel)

Dave make you do that? LOL....No. He was the one that mentioned them to me when I was debating on what frontstage to go with. And he helped me find a good deal on them. But I absolutely loved the sound of his. And the 8's are supposed to have fantabulous low end output and extension....which is what I wanted. So I thought what the hell, I'll give them a shot. For the price I paid, even if I don't like them I could turn around and sell them without losing any money. Although now I'm debating on picking up a PG Xenon 200.4. 200w x 4 @ 1-4ohm for $339+shipping is a tempting deal on SD.

You running those Crossfire horns? What do you think of those? I haven't heard much about them.
