Recommended Test CD's
Anything from Sheffield Labs would be good, for example. Norah Jones. Nirvana's older CD's (recorded well, good dynamics, not overly compressed like this new crap)

location of crossovers. Pics Included
That's because it is a myth and doesn't really matter

Plus he's finally immerging(sp?) from the mourning stage and just starting into the "live life while you have it" stage...so he's overly happy and excited all the time now. Considering I'm a quiet and extremely unhappy/unexcited person, it drives me nuts!!- Welcome to the IHoP
Well, if he's not helping one of us kids with something around the house, he just sits at home by himself. So he has all of this excess energy to burn off. Needs someone of the opposite sex to occupy his time.......- Welcome to the IHoP
My dad had better find a girlfriend real quick like. His new super-go-lucky mood and overabundance of energy is going to drive me insane reeeeaaalllll soon.- First Looks: RL-s12 & RL-s15 LMT's
Not inherently. It's the amplifiers efficiency that determines power consumption, not the output impedance. And no, just because an amp makes it's power into 4ohm it doesn't mean it will be more efficient than an amp that makes it's power at 1ohm. Most amps that make that power @ that high of an impedance (4ohm) are going to be class A/B, which are super mondo inefficient at close to anything less than full power output. 1/3 power (actual output power...like normal listening level w/ music), most A/B amps are in the 30-40% efficiency range, where a class D will probably be in the 60-70% range (rough estimate).- how do you ship subs?
This for the IDmax? I've been debating this aswell, as I need to ship off one of the 'Maxs I had for sale. Imma thinkin' I'm going to go the internal wood crate design (a la RE Audio)....but I'm not sure yet. Kid that sent them to me just tossed them in a big box with assloads of packing peanuts.....and I can tell you, that is not a good idea. I'm surprised one of them didn't have the magnets busted off or crack/bend a basket.- CDT centerstage
Do I agree nobody's a perfect angel? Yes. Do I think CDT is the worst manfacturer at doing it? Yes. Everybody twists things a little, they take it completely over the edge to the point of foolishness/pure greed. IMHO they are the Monster Cable of speakers, if you know what I mean Pretty much.- CDT centerstage
yeah....something is definitely not right there. Should be exactly the opposite Good midbass and low distortion.- CDT centerstage
You had me at hello, you had me at hello- CDT centerstage
Well.....I don't know any other company that tells you that you need to have 4 tweeters on your dash, in addition to the component set, for a good soundstage. Plus they charge you extra for the "proper" crossover- CDT centerstage
Is like saying that You don't need an 18" driver and 12kw to win dBDrag when You could use a 10" driver and put up high 170's. NO chit. Munson did it. But is the average noob automatically assumed to have that much knowledge? I think not. Do they have that knowledge right out of the gate? No. But selling them, and making them dependent upon, band-aids for poor/improper installs is certainly not going to help the acquire that knowledge in any way, shape or form. All it does is give CDT another money-maker accessory to sell to people who don't have adequate installation knowledge. It would be more beneficial if they actually gave out information on how to properly install/setup a pair of components so that these n00bs could learn the ins & outs rather than having this company try to sell them 10 other accessories to go along with the comp set itself, and making them believe that it's the only way they'll ever get good sound in a car. Off to lunch I go......- Fiber Optics in HU and amps?
As Wedge said; Toslink is already in use in the car audio market, and has been for a while.- CDT centerstage
Once again; another pointless accessory from CDT. Install and tune your speakers correctly in the first place and you won't need to waste your time/money with those stupid little things. I'm waiting for the day CDT starts selling windshields with speakers built in to them. God I really dislike CDT......
