  1. Were is Nick at?? Went to PM him, but I saw on his profile that his last activity was July 27th And why and when did he change his name to Nikuk?? Man I'm behind the times
  2. ..........................makes me want to shoot myself square between the eyes
  3. Sitting here at work again for the first time in 2 weeks..........
  4. Better yet....you PM me and see if you can talk me into actually letting them go with a nice offer I still don't know what I'm going to do........
  5. Just wait.....I get even cornier(sp?) when I'm drunk.
  6. God I'm bored. Boredom's not a burden anyone should bear [/TOOL]
  7. Not really "strapped" per say......just kinda one of those things where it wouldn't hurt, but not really a necessity.
  8. Tweets: Aura MR62's that desertheat was selling ($28 shipped). Might look for something different...but I dunno. Those Aura's are supposed to sound pretty good. Midrange: Coustic DR 4" ($22 shipped) or Coustic DR 5.25" ($20 shipped) Midbass: Coustic DR 7" ($25 shipped) or Coustic DR 8" ($50 shipped) or Vifa 8" (~$70) Subs: Two Coustic DR-315 15's ($70 shipped for the pair) That's what would change. Next to each item is the price I paid I was running the DR 7" mids and absolutely loved them.....so I really think it would still sound phenominal. And the DR subs are supposed to be very similar in sound to the old Image Dynamics IDW's....which are very highly regarded SQ subs. -Sell- Illusion horns, Illusion ND-10's, Soundstream Rubi 702, Soundsplinter Rl-p....probably more, but that's all I can think of right now.
  9. What should I do; stick with my current install plans, or sell most of what I was planning to install for some added pocket money and go with a more "budget" system/install?? All of the gear for either system is sitting around already, so nothing new would need to be bought.....
  10. pobre squeakers get lotsa work done? That's that worst part.......I got abso-fvcking-lutely nothing accomplished on my car.....other than removing the entire interior. Last Monday I took off as my day to do nothing. Tuesday I tore my car apart and starting preping for the deadening. Wed - Sat I spent almost all my free time at the hospital with my buddy. Sun and this Monday we spent getting ready for vacation. Then Tue through Thur I was out of town on vacation. Today I spent all day fishing with my best friend (the one who I was at the hospital with) to help him chill out and relax and get his mind off stuff (and I got hella sun-burnt). So, that leaves me with this weekend if I want to actually accomplish anything...............
  11. I can't believe my 2 weeks vacation are up already
  12. Pure class A for car audio = teh sux0r Nothing like running an amp that has a maximum efficiency of 25% off of the limited power supply available in a car You wouldn't, however, need to run your car's heater in the winter From what I'm told, the old Monolithic amp's heatsinks would literally glow at night (and they aren't tube amps). Like Denim mentioned; there are a few 5-channels that have class A/B front end channels, then a Class D subwoofer amplifier. Then you have something like the Alpine amps, which IIRC have a psuedo-class D technology that they use on all channels.

I wouldn't be too unhappy about hooking that up to a nice solid state

  15. http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=FR125SBG Pretty close to your budget, and they come with pre-cut baffles & grilles Or, if you are any good at crossover/cabinet design, you could pick up a pair of Dayton RS 6" or 7" mids, the Dayton RS tweeter, or something from Morel or Seas, and build your own for right around $100 in parts.

  17. How about this one?
  18. Seriously? Damn.......
  19. haha.....

Congrats!! Anyways; I've always been of the opinion that the ring isn't as important as the meaning. I'd rather give her a $10 ring and have the best relationship ever, than give her a $10,000 ring and have a miserable relationship. I guess it depends on what fits your lifestyle. If you live the extravagent lifestyle; I could see needing a 2nd mtg on your house. If the two of you have always been the more conservative type, I don't see the need for anything more than 1 or 2 months salary (which, in my case, is next to nothing )
  21. Ring? What did I miss? Nick popping the question?
  22. Huh? Only time I remember talkin' efficiency was in the RF thread, where I wasn't aware that some of the newer RF's showed birthsheet efficiencies lower than 70%.
  23. Please download the PDF of our manual. All measurements on our amplifiers are done at 12v. The efficiency of a class D amplifier as all other amplifiers (Class A, B and Class A/B varies depending on the output power. All these companies who say "our class D is XX% efficient do NOT specify at what level and what load impedance. I only specified the current draw with 4 ohm loads. This computes to 83% efficiency at rated 200w 4 ohm. At 2 ohm it is about 76% and 1 ohm it is 60% At lower power levels ALL class D amplifier have much lower efficiency Please feel free to email me at "[email protected]" with any questions Stephen Mantz Thank you
  24. Nope. They still over there somewhere? they were. links expired http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/viewto...p?t=364&start=0 fudge ah well......I prefer my reference disks to be originals anyways.
